Think green when you shop.

SSD Co Founder Crystal Fambrini stopped by FOX 11 today to talk about some great eco friendly products out there in the stores right now from clothing to cleaning supplies.

Some earth friendly shopping tips include:

–  Look for clothing items that are made with bamboo, soy and organic cotton.  Bamboo is the best renewable source as it is the fastest growing woody plant in the world, it grows 24 inches per day.

–   Keep an eye out for items that are made in the U.S.A (or your country).  Transportation is one of the biggeset contributors to green house gases, so it’s important to buy things not only to support your country but to also support the environment.

–  Now more than ever there are amazing items in the stores that were once something else.  In this FOX segment below you’ll see a reclaimed pottery necklace made from broken remnants of 1960s china dishes!  And a bag made from 100% post consumer water bottles!  Both these items can be found at www.uncommongoods.com.

New York City: Swarovski CRYSTALLIZED concept store opening party drew many famous fans like Chloe Sevigny, Blake Lively, Lucy Lui, and Evan Rachel Wood.  Each of the leading ladies accessorized their outfits with Swarovski CRYSTALLIZED jewels ofcourse.

Katy Perry performing at the 2009 MTV European Awards. Perry also hosted the entire show.

Break out pop star Katy Perry is constantly pushing the envelope.  Her songs like “I Kissed A Girl”  and “Ur So Gay” are known to stir up controversy and her fashions are no exception.  First she attends the MTV American Music Awards this Summer not wearing any bottoms and then last night at the MTV European Music Awards which she hosted in Liverpool, England, she decides to cover up —  and what better way  than with something that resembles a circus carousel!?  Well actually it’s a Manish Arora dress.

We here at Style Seen Daily salute Katy for her unique style that can’t be missed.  And we are excited to see what this vixen dares to wear next.

Throwback to the 70s style is back in full force for 2009.

As we head further into 2009 and the weather gets warmer, you will see more and more 60’s and 70’s inspired fashions in the form of floral peasant tops and long dresses and accessories like forehead bands. This look has been termed the “neo hippy.”     (more…)
