Throwback to the 70s style is back in full force for 2009.

As we head further into 2009 and the weather gets warmer, you will see more and more 60’s and 70’s inspired fashions in the form of floral peasant tops and long dresses and accessories like forehead bands. This look has been termed the “neo hippy.”

“The House of Harlow 1960” - the hot new jewelry line co-designed by Nicole Richie - has sold out via a pre-order system before it even hit the stores.

Neo Hippy

Fresh twist on 70s inspired  designs distinct to the “hippy” family. Stereotypical neo-hippy attire includes loose, comfortable clothing like peasant tops, skirts and sandals.  The colors are more modern, the shapes are much trimmer / figure flattering and paired with modern accessories.  Strappy shoes replace the hippie clogs.  A nice tote in a color that pops.  Lots of costume jewelry instead of homemade jewelry.  Long hair yes.  Make up, specifically eyes, that pop, instead of au natural.

Here are a few styles currently available if you are looking for that make peace not war vibe….
