The September cover of the new Rolling Stone features the cast of “True Blood” sans clothing and dripping in blood. Cast mates Alexander Skarsgard, Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer are featured in the photospread, that hits stands tomorrow and is available online Friday to Rolling Stone’s premium subscription plan holders.
We have a sneak peak at this steamy article here:
The idea of celibate vampires is ridiculous, True Blood creator Alan Ball says. “To me, vampires are sex,” he says. “I don’t get a vampire story about abstinence. I’m 53. I don’t care about high school students. I find them irritating and uninformed.” On his show, every available orifice is used for intercourse: gay, straight, between humans and supernatural beings, and supernatural being on supernatural being, whether he be werewolf, dog or an enormous Minotaur-looking being called a maenad. None of the sex is quite as good as vampire sex, though, which can happen at the astonishing rhythm of 120 bpm while simultaneously devouring one’s neck and making your eyes roll back into your head. Says Stephen Moyer — who plays Bill Compton, the undead Southern Civil War Veteran — “If we go from a base level, vampires create a hole in the neck where there wasn’t one before. It’s a de-virginization — breaking the hymen, creating blood and then drinking the virginal blood. And there’s something sharp, the fang, which is probing and penetrating and moving into it. So that’s pretty sexy. I think that makes vampires attractive.” He laughs a little. “Plus, Robert Pattinson is just hot, right?”

Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos have been working together for nearly a decade before the debut of the quirky, eclectic brand of Shipley & Halmos. The West Coast natives left behind the surfer prep brand Trovata, the brand they were previously designing for, and headed to New York City. In NYC they created their own collection of wearable, classic pieces that could be worn by people in every corner of the U.S. Since the brand’s first collection in Spring 2008, the duo has won the coveted Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) award and has even seen their pieces worn by celebrities such as Blake Lively and Jessica Szohr.

While on the road Shipley and Halmos plan on keeping an online diary, that will be available via the brand’s Twitterpage which will document their travels and allow fans and customers to watch the tour unfold. There will also be custom t-shirts to commemorate the tour, much like that of a concert t-shirt. Other custom Shipley & Halmos gifts will be available for willing participants at each of the Barneys CO-OP stores that the designers visit. Every customer portrait will be accompanied by questionnaire, so that each page of the final published book will reveal the spontaneity, humor, and personality of the quintessential Shipley & Halmos customer.

The diverse cultures and styles of the Shipley & Halmos customer, and the Barneys New York customer, will be vividly portrayed and able to shine through the published book.
Hugh Hefner; Playboy, Activist & Rebel Movie Poster
Hugh Hefner, known of course as the famous founder of Playboy – is also a rebellious activist, a little known fact that Oscar-winning™ producer/director Brigitte Berman brings to light in her feature documentary, titled “HUGH HEFNER: PLAYBOY, ACTIVIST AND REBEL”. The film tells the story of the flamboyant, outspoken founder of the Playboy empire and the fierce battles with nearly all levels of the U.S. government, the religious right, and militant feminists. Think less bunnies, less nudity and more politics.
First Cover of Playboy Magazine – Monroe
Hefner launched Playboy in 1953, achieving instant notoriety and astounding success for the magazine, the nude centerfold of Marilyn Monroe naturally helped. Hefner began to become the most outspoken leader of the sexual revolution and/or liberation, in his own Playboy Style. Almost immediately, his brand and his voice, outraged forces of Church and State, who launched a war againist him, which is still going on today.
Known as hedonist, leading a controversial lifestyle, some said he exploited women, regardless, he became a true catalyst for progressive change in social groups, starting in Chicago, on an assortment of social and political issues including not just sexual freedom, but censorship, First Amendment rights, abortion rights, and social justice. Check out the official trailer below:
After Berman attended Hefner’s 80th birthday party at his infamous Mansion in April 2006, she decided the otherside of Hefner, Berman said in an interview, “was fascinating because as much as he had become a legendary lover of countless women – there was a more intersting side to him, the publisher of a groundbreaking magazine, who is also a social activist at the forefront of countless progressive causes – a man who took great risks in breaking the colour line in his Playboy clubs and TV shows, who defied the blacklist in the McCarthy Fifties decade, fought antiquated and absurd sex laws that regulated private conduct in the nation’s bedrooms, provided legal teams to fight anti-abortion laws that eventually led to Roe vs Wade, and campaigned against censorship and for the individual’s right to freedom of expression on all fronts. For me, this film has it all – sex, glamour, politics, romance, tragedy, and conflicts – and many great surprises about a man people think they know, but don’t really know”.
Berman was granted unprecedented access to his vast archives and allowed her to have complete creative control, something he had never done in his life for anyone. Interesting for a man who is known for being proud of his enemies including Presidents Nixon and Reagan, FBI’s J. Edgar Hoover, Rev. Jerry Falwell, Don Wildmon, Gloria Steinem and Susan Brownmiller.
The highlights in the film include battles he fought from being arrested for obscenity, having been branded a pornographer by Reagan’s Meese Commission, the boycott of his magazine he endured, FBI surveillance and having been set up on drug charge, which he proved to have been fabricated. Hefner has won every single legal battle he has ever fought, while continuing with his legendary lifestyle.
Participants in the film are essentially a “Who’s Who” of the decades Playboy has been around, the list is extraordinary and brings insight into the mind of someone who has been called everything from a Genius to a Pedophile. Regardless of what you think of him, there is no doubt that his personal style and vision has made an impact in media, and it turns out also in controversial social issues that may come to a surprise to many.
The film debuted at the 2009 Toronto Film Festival and opened July 30, 2010 nationally.

Walking into the fashion filled room, there is an intensity you immediatley feel, although its also very relaxed and cool, it is somewhat intimidating, especially when you meet the once described “Snow White with Razors,” Partner Robyn Berkley, who you may be familiar with from the hit show on Bravo, “Kell on Earth,” which documents Robyn and Founder Kelly Cutrone throughout their world in the fast paced fashion and art scenes. Once we spoke with Robyn, who was in fact lovely and nothing like a razor ridden cartoon, we were invited to take a look at their clients hottest styles for 2010, including dresses, t-shirts and sexy stilettos.
