Weekend Getaway

Now that summer Friday’s are here, (for everyone we hope), the buzz around the office is where to head on the weekend and what to pack.  If you’re taking a couple nights to get away, but are unsure what your adventure will have in store, we suggest the above; Hugo Boss Blazer, Moral Eyes Silver Sunglasses, Vegan Flats by The Generation, Lanvin Eyemask & Slippers, Loree Rodkin Candle, Zadig & Voltaire Boots, Navy Blue James Perse wrap dress, white t shirt and black long dress,  AG straight leg jeans, Simon Spurr scarf and brown bag,  La Perla swimsuit and nightgown, Aldo black wedges and Kipepeo Silver Angel Wing earrings.

With your bag neatly packed, you now have the freedom to worry free, this is the perfect assortment for wine tasting in Santa Barbara, site seeing in San Francisco, swimming in the lake at Big Bear, a quick escape to Cabo or a relaxing weekend in Laguna Beach.  Living in Los Angeles has a lot of perks, one of them being that flying to SF, Cabo or even Vegas is just a 40 minute trip and driving to Laguna or Santa Barbara is about the same driving time.

The Pacific Edge Hotel Laguna Beach

Now choose, if you’re heading to Laguna Beach, for a splurge we suggest The Montage, as a steal we would go with Pacific Edge Hotel (A Joie de Vivre Hotel), the Pacific Edge offers Surf Lessons from Billabong too (another reason to pack a one piece).

Santa Barbara Inn

If Santa Barbara is your choice, for a splurge we suggest Bacara Resort and for a steal The Santa Barbara Inn is a boutique hotel with ocean views and great weekend deals.  With the local produce, wineries and shopping, you can feel good about your contribution to the community while you relax and enjoy your trip, even if you just stay at your hotel.

Bigbear Lakefront Lodge

Most people think of Big Bear in the winter, but for those of us who enjoy some fresh air and nature, Big Bear is actually even more beautiful in the summertime. Resorts offer great deals like The Northwoods Resort, or Big Bear Lakefront Lodge right on the water.

Hotel Vitale

If your idea of a getaway is more of a city one, check out the laid back west coast city of San Francisco, one of the greatest places to walk around and sight see in all of the United States.  There is a European flare to the city, but the coolness of the west coast that only California can offer. For a Splurge we suggest staying at the Hotel Vitale right on the waterfront in the northern part of the city. If you want a steal, check into the Crescent San Francisco Hotel, a little known boutique that keeps their rates low and their service basic, but chic.

ME Cabo Hotel

If you’re found your airfare for Cabo, just a 40 minute trip from LAX, then check into the ME by Melia Hotel (you can use Starwood points) or the Marbella Suites if your budget is tighter this time around.

Whichever destination you choose, enjoy your trip and if you need any additional suggestions or information, let us know!

Band: Too Much Young (Levi Roopchand, Shane Czarnecki, Jerry Powell, Zack Storman)

Keep an ear out for our Style Seen Daily luvs Too Much Young to be dominating the radio waves soon.  This group of four —  Levi Roopchand (rapper), Shane Czarnecki (on the drums), Zack Storman (bass), Jerry Powell (producer, vocals, guitar) —  stem from Stroudsburg, Pennslyvania and are now hitting Hollywood hard.  Their live shows are super fun and completely unpredictable.  From stage diving to up in your face guitar playing, this band will definitely get you out of your seat and having the best time.  Too Much Young is a mix of hip hop, rock and funk — they’re songs are very catchy and will have you keeping them on repeat.  If you live in Los Angeles, take advantage and take in a show center stage for the cheap before they blow and you find yourself not cool enough to make the cut  (hey, just keeping it real).

Check out this teaser video from of a new up and coming track from Too Much Young called “LA Girls”…

Zach Galifianakis and Bradley Cooper in "The Hangover Part 2."

Todd Phillips has delivered another hysterical success with The Hangover Part 2. Sure, the plot line is almost identical to the first hit movie, but that doesn’t matter because the comedic timing of Zach Galifianakis and obscure adventures the three best friends get themselves involved in, make this movie laugh-out-loud funny.

Hilarity ensues when Phil, Stu, Alan, and Doug end up in Bancock, Thailand to celebrate Stu’s bachelor party two nights before his wedding. Of course someone gets lost, the wolfpack is haunted by an adorable drug-dealing monkey, Mr. Chow and his money-laundering scams are involved, and Stu finds himself in more embarrassing trouble in this city of sin than the last.

This over-the-top comedy was a great sequel to the original, but the laughs came in all the same spots. The Hangover Part 2 is funny and likable but doesn’t compare to the breakout hit from two years ago. If you’re anything like me, you’ll still get a bunch of pee-your-pants moments.

Bradley Cooper in Diesel Reg-One Chino

Bradley Cooper, who stars as the adventurous and ball-busting Phil in both movies, has been spotted around town in the same pants he wears throughout almost the entire sequel. The Diesel Reg-One Chino, priced at $150, fit great on the athletic and rugged guy, and Bradley loves sporting them everywhere from running errands to red carpets. For a summertime version of these classic pants, try Diesel’s Reg-One-Sho shorts, priced at $95.

While summer is still a few weeks away, the pool party invites have already started rolling in. Whether it’s a relaxing back yard barbeque or poolside gala at the W Hotel, a great tribal inspired print can take you from summer-bummer to pool party perfection. Take your look from day to evening by swapping  your sandals for a great pair of nude heels.

Not only did Vanessa Hudgens combine two of this summers chicest trends, a tribal print in a nude color, she proves you don’t need a bikini to get some attention from across the pool!

Kim Kardashian vamps up her look at Wet Republic in Las Vegas, by adding some color. Beware fashionistas! If you are going to wear a colored tribal print, try sticking to pastels. Too many bright colors in a tribal print can make a piece overbearing.

Beyonce continues to show her girl power with her new single “Run the World (girls)” and ofcourse I LOVE IT!
She’s super sexy and smart. Her dance moves are amazing and her fashions are on point. Put this in your outlook ladies: Beyonce’s new album out June 28, 2011.

This music video is an instant classic, made by Director Francis Lawrence (Bad Romance for Gaga, I’m A Slave 4 U for Britney).  This is the first single out since Beyonce reportedly parted ways “amicably” with her manger and Father Matthew Knowles.  It’s on the down low that her new manager is hubby Jay-Z. Makes sense, right?

Cameron Diaz in pastel pink jeans

With Easter this week and the sun finally peaking out, I was inspired to finally start dressing for Spring. So I put away my black sweaters and scarves and I brought out my favorite Elizabeth and James floral sundress for brunch on Sunday. This inspired me to change my attitude, brighten my mood, and start wearing beautiful and bold pastels as we step into warmer weather and sunnier days, like Cameron Diaz‘s pastel pink jeans. Here are some creative ways to add some pastels to your daily wardrobe without feeling like a package of colored eggs.

Nails

Essie Nice is Nice

Nail polish companies like O.P.I. and Essie have come out with beautiful pastels for spring. Essie’s new French Affair Spring Collection features a light and dainty lavender color called Nice is Nice, priced at $8. Pastel colored manicures are the best way to incorporate bright, fun, pastels into your wardrobe. Try purples, pinks, and light greens and yellows to mix it up this season.

Jeans

Pastel colored jeans are all the rage right now. Jada Pinkett-Smith and Audrina Patridge love yellow jeans for a bright spring look. Paired with sandals and a baggy tee, or with pumps and a blazer, these jeans are versatile and flirty.

I love these yellow BDG Cigarette High Rise Jeans, priced affordably at $58, from Urban Outfitters. They’re great for a boat ride or a beachy date night, but don’t be afraid to dress them up and wear them out, they will definitely help you stand out from the crowd.

Light Dresses

Airy, light, pastel dresses with ruffles or floral prints are the best for your spring collection. We saw actresses Mila Kunis, Emma Stone, and singer Taylor Swift walk the red carpet in gorgeous pastel designs this season, now its’s time for you to grab a hold of this beautiful trend. Not only are these styles cute and fun, but they are so easy to throw on for a red carpet or to the beach.

This MM Couture Tiered Dress, priced at $78,  is such a great coral color and would look great with wedges and a straw hat for a flirty, casual look.
