Melrose, Ca- I met Abigail Quimpo as I was making my way out of Wasteland, on Melrose. Wild hair, a tan to kill for, and a gorgeous Vintage, floral Betsey Johnson coat. Her  and the group of equally chic friends she was with were making their way to a local street art show when I approached her. Right of the bat, her outrageously bubbly personality, and heartwarming laugh combined with her equally playful outfit gave me a fresh perspective on what chic could be. She wore a Beautiful, basic black PM Tenore dress, and the most amazing pair of cream colored, patent leather Marc Jacobs heels, which combined elegance with the edge and glamour of the coat, and for a quirk, she accessorized with a funky San Rio Hello Kitty, bow necklace.

She described her outfit as “free spirited and a reflection of my mood that morning.”  This post-boho chic look, is perfect for the woman who dabbles in both art, and fashion. Never thinking twice about conventional rules, or the weekly trend; although this look is tailor made for a specific woman, their is no doubt that it is in fact timeless.

Glendale, CA– I spotted Lauren Brooke Davis as she sat herself next to me at Katsuya for lunch and cocktails. Her beautiful auburn hair in a smart Ponytail, and gorgeous Mustard yellow, kaftan Sleeved, Sam O’brien dress were the  dead giveaways that this girl knew what she was doing here. As I approached her I noticed the glamorous red lacquer coming from her black  140mm Bianca, Christian Louboutin Heels, and knew she was deffinitly the next Street Scene Look.

Lauren, who moved to Los Angeles from Ohio a little over a year ago to attend the  Paul Mitchell School in Sherman Oaks, explained that her look “delivers the appropriate message when attending functions for school, or for work.” Whether it be an interview, or a sushi lunch on a beautiful afternoon, such a on-trend, lively dress color easily goes from day to evening and gives the right message; not to mention the swoon worthy heal she pairs it with, that no doubt will leave a lasting first impression.

Adding a final flare to the outfit, Lauren embellishes her look with a a pair of oversized Chloe Sunglasses, and vintage gold leaf earrings. After a delicious lunch, Lauren made her way to Barneys Co-Op, surely to add more amazing pieces to what promises to be a devastatingly chic wardrobe of LA’s next great hair stylist.

Grand Opening of the Shay Todd Flagship store on Melrose in West Hollywood, CA: Designer Shay Todd and Shiro Gutzie invited guests to party in the Shay Todd Collection courtyard and mingle throughout the store. Celebrity friends and attendees included Maria Menounos, Taryn Manning, Shoshana Bush, Martin Lawrence Bullard, Tokio Hotel, & Lauren Wiggins.

Maria Menounos workin' the Shay Todd Bikini. We both gasped (literally) when we saw this piece in the store. It was a no brainer that her stylist Rachel Zalis would put her in it a week later. She looks H-O-T and classy! Definitely succeeding in pulling off the ultimate girl next door look.

Shay is an absolute sweetheart.  I love that she wore one of her swimsuits under her suit.  This Hawaiian native grew up surfing and always in a bikini. She told me she was obsessed with swimsuits as that is what she and her friends were always wearing in the never ending summer of the Aloha states.

Shay Todd knows how to launch a swimsuit store.  As soon as you walk into the store, you feel like you not just want but NEED to take a trip to the beach.  With white walls, lux couches, and even a patio area where shoppers can sip on cocktails and take their time shopping.  And if that doesn’t get you, keep walking a few steps past the patio you’ll find a “secret” nail salon and massage area — all part of Todd’s plan to put you in the mood to buy a swimsuit.  Another thing we immediately noticed was the amazing attention to detail with the lighting and mirrors — our bodies never looked so good under those lights.  Why can’t department stores follow Todd’s lead?
