Halloween is no longer just for kids. It’s for the kids at heart as well to let loose and get creative with your costume choices. So if you’re still on the hunt for the perfect Halloween costume for the upcoming festivities, have no fear, we here at Style Seen Daily have some ways you can create your own to die for outfit. You’ll surprise even yourself with what you can put together by just looking around your closet or at your local vintage shop – channel your inner rock star and go Lady Gagalicious, bring your favorite television cast to light and go retro with looks straight from the hit show Mad Men or get whimsical and become the Mad Hatter. Here’s some ideas on how you can make these looks yourself …
LADY GAGA
Pop sensation Lady Gaga’s over the top looks have turned heads all year long, and Halloween will be no exception. To create a classic Gaga costumed look, bigger is definitely better when it comes to embellishments and accessories. From bow-shaped hairdos to a dress made entirely of bubbles, almost anything goes with Lady Gaga. For a do-it-yourself Gaga costume start with a pair of cargos with a sequined midriff baring top and complete the look with a military style cropped jacket. Add a platinum blonde wig and some over the top accessories, like rings and embellished sunglasses, to pull together your Lady Gaga costume.
RETRO INSPIRATION
The 1960s, retro-inspired look has also been a huge hit this year with the success of shows like Mad Men and these looks are always perfect for Halloween. To create your own classic, nostalgic look start with a patterned cinch-waist dress, then add pearls and white gloves. Top off the look with red lipstick and pair of pumps and you’re set to step back in time for the evening.

MAD HATTER

The recent release of 'Alice in Wonderland' has inspired apparel, jewelry, and even Halloween costumes this year.
For men this year, the Mad Hatter from Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland is the perfect combination of fantasy and mystery to create the ideal Halloween costume. Johnny Depp’s character adds a twist to the original Mad Hatter and is a top costume pick for this year. Pair a tuxedo suit, which can be found at any vintage shop, with a top hat and bright orange wig to start off the look. Finish off with white face makeup, some dark nail polish, if you’re daring enough, and some quirky accessories.

The Mad Hatter from Tim Burton's version 'Alice in Wonderland' is a fun, unique costume choice for men this Halloween.
