Soolip founder Wanda Wen held a press preview at wedding gown shop St. Pucchi in West Hollywood to talk about the latest in bridal.  Not only did I learn so much about weddings, which what girl doesn’t love, I am so excited to attend her upcoming event and I hope to see you there as well!  Wanda’s annual “A Soolip Wedding” is March 3, 2013 at the Bel Air Bay Club.  It is considered the premiere bridal event in Southern California.  Spend the day with family and friends sipping on champagne, tasting cake, watching a special St. Pucchi wedding gown fashion show and learning anything and everything with how to make your special day the best day possible.

At the press preview, Wanda hosted a panel with A list wedding experts.

Nelson Holdo, Black, Starr & Frost, said that couples are opting once again for the addition of yellow gold in engagement rings instead of all platinum.

Black, Star & Frost Platinum and 18 karat yellow gold handcrafted “Silk Collection” engagement ring containing a 1.22 carat fancy light yellow radiant diamond and the mounting contains 0.85 carats of round brilliant diamonds and 0.18 carats of fancy intense yellow round brilliant diamonds.

Rani Totman, Owner and Designer of St. Pucchi, divulged that strapless wedding gowns are extremely popular and a new trend is that brides are asking for elegant and romantic sleeves on their gowns.

David Pressman, David Pressman Events, emphasized that the bride and groom should be the best looking people in the room.  David also shared that for grooms it comes down to the details, like amazing cufflinks that he can wear his entire life.  And for the bride, a second wedding dress, for the reception, is becoming more of the norm.  Or if not a second dress, a second look where the bride can remove part of the wedding gown to make it easier to dance in.

Rrivre Davies, of Rrivre Works, planned both Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian’s weddings.  Davies said that Khloe did a wedding that felt good to her, had only important people to her there and the personal and intimate feeling was beautiful.  More intimate smaller weddings are also catching on with couples picking up the expenses themselves.   However if a couple is having more than 100 people chances are the parents and grandparents have stepped in to pick up costs and the invites are more led by the families.  The average age of a bride is now 30 years old.

Wanda Wen, Soolip founder, shared that she designed Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes wedding invitations and that as large a that couple is, they only invited 30 people.  Attention to detail is a must and that events having a personable feel is more desired.
