Eyebrows are a signature that make people identify you. For example, take a look at the above photograph of various famous women’s brows. Actress Audrey Hepburn’s signature brow let’s you identify her without even seeing the rest of her face!
Now, take a look at the following celebrities without eyebrows.
It may be difficult for you to identify the celebrities since they are all missing eyebrows. This helps illustrate my point that eyebrows are very important and, as such, it is vital to keep them groomed and shaped.
Learn to define your brows to make them your own signature.
First, you need to measure your brows to find where they start, end, and where your arch goes. Follow these steps:
1. Line up the inner part of brow with the inner part of your eye and the outer part of your nose.
2. Line up the outer part of your iris with the outer part of your nose in a diagonal to find your arch point.
3. Line up the outer part of your eye with the outer part of your nose in a diagonal to find where your brow ends.
Once you have found the three sections of your brows you can shape and define them so they stand out and frame your eyes.
There are several products you can use to achieve defined brows.
1. Wax and Powder
Start with the wax on your brows so the powder can stick to the skin and hair.
Using two different colors of powder, one lighter and one darker, start with applying the darker powder on the outer part of the brow (the arch to the end of the brow). The lighter color powder will go from the inner part of the eye to the arch of the brow blending it into the darker shade.
2. Pencils
Using the pencil to outline and fill in the brow to create a fuller brow. You can also use the pencil to outline the outer edges of the brow and fill in the center with powder.
3. Creme/Liquid
A liquid/creme brow definer can be used to create a bold defined brow that will be long wearing and waterproof.
4. Liquid Pen
A liquid pen stains the skin to create a waterproof and smudgeproof brow. This is especially good if you do not have a lot of hair and want your brows to look more natural.
Now that you have the right products and guidelines, take some time to create your own signature frame for your eyes.
