Eveleigh’s Sister Goldie’s

Goldie’s Los Angeles

You might have heard of the lovely restaurant Eveleigh on Sunset strip in West Hollywood, the much loved patio and retractable rooftop in the main dining room is a favorite to many Angeleno’s, and the small batched locally grown food is delicious. So when Eveleigh’s co-founder Nick Mathers announced he was opening a new spot Goldie’s (named after a deli he visited as a child back home) there was little doubt it would become a favorite too.

Eveleigh Los Angeles, designed by Nick Mathers

Mathers, an Australian native, began his hospitality career back home then settled in New York city and brought us the beloved Kingswood, Ruby’s and now Dudley’s. His design aesthetic is rustic, eco-friendly, clean, romantic and inviting.

Eveleigh’s sister Goldie’s is a stylish cozy unpretentious restaurant next door to the famous Izakuya Sushi spot, the outdoor patio wall is covered with succulents, and the indoor-outdoor openness is perfect for the southern California weather. Inside at its heart is a brick hearth oven, where its easy to see Chef Thomas Lim, also an Aussie import from a chic avant garde spot there – and friend of Mathers for over 8 years – preparing wood-fired foods like charred baby leeks, brussel sprouts, rotisserie lamb, chicken, and several other unique but inexpensive dishes.

Long gone are the days of dumbing down culinary skills for the Los Angeles market, Goldie’s brings delicious modern fare with custom-made small batch cocktails from the full bar, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. They work only with the regions wealth of farmers and purveyors who provide ethical, carefully craved goods so they can bring us their version of healthy eating.

Another treat from Goldie’s is Brittini Rae, formerly of INK, she is running the bar program and offers unique concoctions like the Mr. Rodgers a blend of bourbon, maple and brown butter meringue with a salty hibiscus leaf. Expect interesting wines, beers and ever changing cocktails that make drinking an art.
