When you think of Texas many may assume cowboy hats, boots and horses. But hold up now cowperson because there’s so much more. During the week of August 14 thru the 21 Texas designers will prove it by showcasing local clothing, accessories, jewelry and even home decor at the 2010 Austin Fashion Week. Events will take place at local salons and retail stores throughout this beautiful city.

Fashion is not the only thing making its big debut during the week, as makeup artists, photographers, hair stylists and models will also be presented. And there is a charity angle as well, as money will be raised to benefit Austin Involved and Dress For Success. Austin Involved focuses on the community and donates money and time to different local organizations each month. Dress For Success, is an organization that contributes to disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and tools to help them succeed in the workforce.
Also during the week, participants will be competing for the votes of Austin Fashion Week Awards, there are three major categories; People’s Choice Awards, Critics Choice Awards and Peer Choice Awards. Texans will be debuting their fashion style during the week, find more information on the show here.
