He is one of the few guys in the country who works with feathers on this scale. Because of the current popularity with feathers, good feathers are hard to come by. Riffe gets his feathers from Colorado, Wyoming and Florida. Fred Segal and Wasteland are a few places who carry Scott’s feather earrings.

Twin sisters Kine and Einy Paulsen have launched the company Ingri: Dahl Designs to sell exclusive, top quality 3D glasses. “Either on a date or just hanging out with friends, we want our designs to make people feel fashionable while watching 3D,” says founders Kine and Einy.
It’s more than overdue to infuse 3D Entertainment with some style and ditch the dorky 3D Glasses.
A couple of years ago, the twins Kine and Einy Paulsen set their eyes on the 3D screen through awkward 3D glasses. In that very moment ,they decided that something had to change. Born and raised in Norway, where Scandinavian design is prominent, they turned to each other and wondered why they had to watch a $500 million movie through a pair of someone else’s oddly shaped glasses. With that thought, Ingri:Dahl was created – a new brand combining elements of entertainment, fashion, and technology. Ironically, the 3D effect is created by merging two identical pictures, just as the twins have merged their talents to create fashionable 3D glasses.
The twins have been inspired by classic Hollywood, both in terms of design and company name. The first style released was named “James” after James Dean, and the company name “Ingri:Dahl” is a homage to the twins’ childhood heroes from Scandinavia: Ingrid Bergman and Roald Dahl. Ingri:Dahl glasses are compatible with all screens using passive 3D technology, meaning RealD and MasterImage theaters and the newest 3D TVs by LG, Vizio, Toshiba and JVC.
Kine and Einy Paulsen recently graduated from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business with degrees in finance and accounting respectively, but have always had an interest in the fashion and entertainment industry. Therefore, this recent business venture is the perfect merge of their interests.
It has been reported that after 11 years at Vogue, senior accessories editor Filipa Fino parted ways with the magazine. Although no details were given as to the reason for her departure, a spokeswoman revealed that she is no longer with the company. When asked for a possible replacement, Condé Nast declined to elaborate with any further statements.
With such a strong voice departing from the pages of Vogue, the direction of one of, if not the most important American fashion publications is subject to change dramatically depending on who is chosen to replace Fino. For more than a decade, under the watchful eye of Anna Wintour, Filipa Fino was able to orchestrate the cohesion of accessories with the trends and zeitgeist of the times. She understood how to deliver what the american market was waiting for, whether it was the ‘it bag’ of the season, or the next must have shoe, Fino never failed to impress with her chic sensibilities that the editorial pages of Vogue required. recreating her vision may be the direction the publication will opt for, hiring someone with similar understanding and views of fashion. With the opportunity for such a coveted position now open, the reality of the situation is that it can go any which way and the direction that accessories are presented to us will ultimately be altered in the very near future.
Speculations are circulating around the industry that Finos departure may have been tied to ‘inappropriate behavior on her part’ possibly with unprofessional use of company expenses and the elusive Vogue fashion closet. WWD posted an article claiming close sources within Condé Nast hinted this to be the case, but quickly after the article was mysteriously revised excluding that statement. Of course, Vogue and WWD are both part of Condé Nast group, which could mean that the reason for her departure is being carefully guarded for the time being.
Trying to imagine Filipa Fino taking advantage of something like the Sample Closet at Vogue, which she has had free reign to, over the past 11 years, is suspicious in itself, but when tied together with the fact that the rumor mill is being fueled from within the Condé Nast group, one can assume that they are not factually driven. Maybe Finos exit was part of a preconceived plan to venture out on her own and that left a few taking shots at a great talent, who decided to move onto a better career choice.
On June 21st, 4 days after leaving Vogue, Fino took to her twitter, writing, “Can’t believe attn I’m getting! lol After 11 years I’m flying solo. So excited abt new co FFConsulting. Stay tuned. More to come.” This gives little insight to her future plans.
Whether or not the decision to leave Vogue was hers or theirs, there is no doubt that the success she found within those pages will resonate with the women who grew accustomed to her aesthetics throughout the years and will surely guarantee the same success in whatever her next endeavor may be. Fingers crossed that Vogue finds the same luck when choosing Filipa Finos successor, because she left a big pair of glamorous heals to fill.

Los Angeles, CA April 28th, 2011 – Stars gathered in Culver City to celebrate IWC Schaffhausen and Peter Lindbergh’s “A Night in Portofino,” a brilliant photographic collaboration between the legendary photographer, the renowned Swiss watchmaker and IWC’s overwhelmingly talented friends of the brand. Exclusively in the US for one night, the photos capture the spirit of “La Dolce Vita” and the true elegance of Portofino in the 1960’s.
“PETER LINDBERGH’S PORTOFINO”
In May 2010, Peter Lindbergh, one of the greatest photographers of them all, portrayed IWC’s Friends of the Brand against the nostalgic backdrop of a 50s/60s-style Hollywood film set. Whether it was Cate Blanchett eating an ice cream whilst clutching Kevin Spacey’s arm, Elle Macpherson and Eric Dane on a scooter radiating genuine Italian lifestyle or Luís Figo and Matthew Fox aboard a sleek powerboat, the cast had a wonderful time which is clearly reflected in all of the brilliant images. The resulting exhibition, “Peter Lindbergh’s Portofino”, consists of a series of impressive black-and-white photographs and celebrated its US premiere at Culver Studios last night. The exhibition is now scheduled to continue on its world tour and will visit other major cities in Middle East, Asia, and Europe
PORTOFINO COMES TO CULVER CITY
For the exclusive US event, IWC created their own Portofino in Los Angeles. Capitalizing on the “behind the scenes” nature of the exhibition, there was no more of a perfect location than the historic Culver City Studios. When guests first arrived, they were treated to a gallery-like setting displaying almost 50 photos from the world class exhibition and also had the privilege to preview exclusive movie featuring the animation and excitement that took place during the shoot. As they moved further into the gallery, they party began to transition and everyone was transported to the Portofino harbor by nightfall. Aromas of delicacies from Italian markets filled the rooms as guests were entertained by authentic street acts and were photographed dressed up in 1960’s costumes – things even got competitive on the bocce court!

Gaia Repossi for Barney's New York, collection of rings.
After her father named her artistic director of her family’s renowned jewelry house at the mere age of 23 in 2009, Gaia Repossi has already distinguished herself as an artist to watch. Now, at 25, she has made the line her own with bold and unique pieces, including the Gaia Repossi Bold Line for Barney’s New York, which boasts beautiful rings and outstanding cuffs found on fashionistas around the world.
Gaia Repossi. Main Photo by Karl Lagerfeld.
At work, she has collaborated with rising talents like Joseph Altuzarra and Alexander Wang, and at play, she is regarded as a style icon whose chic minimalism transmits her quiet confidence.
We recently caught up with Ms. Repossi as she and friend Giovanna Battaglia made the annual pilgrimage to Venice Biennale. Despite her hectic schedule, the young designer was more than happy to talk minimalism, Picasso and convention-defying rings.
____________
Q: You come from a long line of jewelers. Do you think the craft has evolved since Repossi was founded in 1920?
Gaia Repossi: Jewelry is not evolving enough. We’re too fixated on diamonds and the value they represent. I think boundaries have to be broken. The industry needs new shapes, new obsessive silhouettes that everyone would wear, like tribal silhouettes.
Q: If you could be the official jeweler to one notable person, who would it be?
GR: I would have loved to work for Picasso or Yves Saint Laurent.
Q: What are your favorite pieces to wear? GR: My all-over the finger rings: from the Berbere collection, the Alexander Wang collection, and the Maure collection. The all-over the finger pieces come from binding two rings so that they run the length of the entire finger. Sometimes I wear my massive cuffs, but never too much at a time. I don’t like mixing.
Q: You are most always spotted in elegant, minimalist looks. What’s your fashion philosophy?
GR: I think silhouettes should be sharp and simple so the eyes and spirit come out. I like basics and menswear references, and I like to lighten classic looks with unexpected items.
Q: Are there any items you can’t live without? GR: Men’s shirts and jackets, black cigarette tuxedo pants, simple pumps or flat suede booties.
Q: Which designers are you gravitating to now? GR:Phoebe Philo’s work for Céline is sharp, different, and unexpected.Alexander Wang channels fierce, androgynous women from another planet. I love Riccardo Tisci’s imaginary religious silhouettes, and Joseph Altuzarra’s feline forms on the catwalk.
Q: Did you always know you would go into the family business? GR: I always wanted to be an artist. I still paint, but sometimes life has unexpected endings.
