30 Seconds To Mars Rocked The Gibson Theater

In the vein of musicians-turned-actors, Jared Leto might be the most successful at doing both, he’s the lead vocals, rhythm guitar, and songwriter for the band 30 Seconds to Mars, but many of you might know him better for his acting. We were fortunate enough to attend the bands show at Universal Studio’s Gibson Amphitheater, where Jared literally had the entire house jumping up and down, singing and fist pumping. The energy in the room was magical, as per his every direction the crowd followed almost like a game of Simon Says.  Midway through the show he appeared center audience and did two solo songs with his guitar while encouraging the crowd to sing, to which they all seemed to do. Check out this video we found from gmlscorpio on you tube. It makes sense now why almost all of their shows are sold out!

Backstage Jared shared with us that he had just been in Abu Dhabi and experienced the “most amazing crowd of Egyptians, Palestinian’s, and Israelis’ and singing in harmony and dancing together, women wearing burka’s rocking out “ a pretty incredible statement of the power of music and his band, who are collective and public in their disdain for war and belief in peace.  Earlier we had seen the same passion when we sat behind a fan that had a Mohawk died blue, similar to a previous look of jared’s and a t-shirt with the bands logo which is an Argus Apocaphex: meaning “Hidden Giant” in Latin. Some say it may have to do with the bands belief in “finding the giant within”, or finding your light.

30 Seconds To Mars Fan

Jared seems very spiritually connected, maybe avoiding alcohol and drugs has brought him enlightenment, whatever the case, he has a very loyal following, including even his longtime acting publicist Robin Baum (who we were a guest of) and manager Jason Weinberg. Clearly he is very loyal and receives the same in return. He was feeling a bit under the weather so he kindly elbow greeted everyone instead of handshaking to avoid the possibility of getting anyone else sick, a thoughtful talented artist. We love it!

Jared’s acting career began on My So-Called Life as the main love interest of Angela (played by Claire Danes), but he also contributed to the soundtrack of the TV series.  He wrote the song “Kings  & Queens” which can be heard on the soundtrack for the film Syline, as well as “A Beautiful Lie” in The Double Hour and “Echelon” in Sol Goode. His first released film was How to Make an American Quilt starring alongside actress Winona Ryder. Many more film’s followed including The Thin Red Line, directed by the renowned Terrence Malick, starring Sean Penn, Woody Harrelson, John Travolta, Nick Nolte, nominated for seven Oscars.

Jared also stared in James Mangold‘s Girl, Interrupted, David Fincher‘s cult classic Fight Club, American Psycho, and Darren Aronofsky‘s Requiem for a Dream – where Jared went to extreme measures to prepare for his role as a heroin addict. Oliver Stone cast him in Alexander, and later he again went to extreme measures of  massive weight gain to play Mark David Chapman, infamous murderer of John Lennon, in the movie Chapter 27. Famed photographer Terri Richardson photographed Jared before, during and after the weight gain, publishing images that shocked everyone.

30 Seconds to Mars is currently on their world tour, and Jared is also creating the documentary Artifact with Director Bartholomew Cubbins and his longtime assistant, turned producing partner, Emma Ludbrook. Emma also produced “30 Seconds to Mars: The Making of “The Ride” a TV movie about the guys and the band.

Britney’s “Till the world ends” video premiered today at the strike of midnight.  Watch it with us…

Aliens are making a comeback thanks to Katy Perry. The “E.T.” video featuring Kanye West premiered online today. The video is the best of both worlds, pop and rap. Katy looks stunning in every costume featured. The amazing make up, hair and headpieces make the futuristic looks complete. I have a feeling this look is going to be huge for Halloween this year so start planning now!

Britney Spears performing at Rain Nightclub in Las Vegas Friday, March 25, 2011.

I love me some Britney.  Yes, she lip sings, no one is denying that — BUT — her style and dance moves are all her… well I mean she has a stylist and choreographer — BUT — whatever its BRIT BRIT!!

Britney held a surprise performance in Vegas Friday night at the Rain Nightclub at the Palms Hotel & Casino and we had a few Brit Brit luvs there that got pretty darn close.  Check it out here….

The performance was taped by MTV and will be included in a Britney Spears special that will air first week of April as part of her album release push. Brit performed songs from her new album, “Femme Fatale.”

This is the second time Spears stunned the Rain Nightclub crowd with a surprise performance — the last time was in 2003.

PS How bad do you want to bust some Brit moves and throw on some sequins?

Britney is back, and she’s taking us on a wild ride in her new music video for ‘Hold It Against Me.’ The futuristic song contrasts well with fashion inspired by the 80′s. There’s short shorts, neon paint, glitter, and more. The style is bright, bold, and bodaciously Britney and we, at Style Seen Daily, want to show you the new trends the video will inspire this season.

Bustiers

Ms. Spears has always been one to show off some skin, especially her smokin’ hot six pack, but slap on a bustier and your body can be slammin’ like Brit’s. This season, leave off the frills and flowers and go for something with a bit more edge, like black leather or a studded corset. Britney’s B. Akerlund‘s black and gold design flows into hot pants, which paired together with fishnets and knee-high boots makes a daring and sexy look. You can try matching your edgy bustier with ripped jeans to create a true throwback look.

Glitter Shoes

Check out those fierce boots, glitter shoes will really help you stand out. Photo Credit: Mtv.com

The first thing I said when the new music video came on my computer screen was  ”I want those boots.” It’s definitely hard to pull off a full glitter boot, so SSD has come up with some other options to keep your feet sparkly without looking like a disco ball.

Glitter pumps are a more subdued version of Britney’s ultra-fab boots. These Steve Madden Caryssag, priced at $129.95, combine the modern platform trend with that 80′s sparkly vibe.

For a more conservative look without losing the music video’s flare, try a pair of glitter flats like these Vera Wang Lavender Label Mariel Glitter Ballet Flats, priced at $157. They are a rock star version of a conservative shoe.

Edgy Accessories

From military belts to chunky necklaces, Britney’s accessories in ‘Hold It Against Me’ are super edgy. If you’re more of a flirty, girly dresser, accessories are a great way to edge up your look without overcoming your dainty style. A studded belt, bulky bracelet, or a thick choker necklace are key in making your style a little more funky and fabulous like Britney.

Eminem rocks his sobriety necklace at 2011 Grammys at Staples Center, Los Angeles.

Eminem wore a bling necklace that featured the Sobriety Circle & Triangle Symbol used by Alcoholics Anonymous at the 2011 Grammys in Los Angeles, California.

The equilateral triangle represents the three-part answer – unity, recovery and service – to a three-part disease – physical, mental and spiritual, while the circle represents wholeness or oneness.

Eminem took home two Grammys, rap album and rap solo.

Eminem dedicated his latest album, Recovery, to addictions he overcame.  He has credited his children – daughter Hailie Jade and his two adopted daughters, Lainey and Whitney – for his recovery.

Ilaria & Danny's Confederacy With Mick Rock's Photograph Of David Bowie & Mick Ronson

One of our very favorite stylists Ilaria Urbinati and Danny Masterson co-own the amazing Confederacy store in Hollywood and tonight, benefiting the lovely Jennifer Howell’s charity, Art of Elysium, they opened their doors to Hosts Riley Keough (this is Elvis Presley‘s Grandaughter if you did not know) & Artist Shepard Fairey to present Mick Rock’s exhibition and launch of his new bok, Mick Rock Exposed: The Face of Rock n’ Roll. Portion of the proceeds go to The Art of Elysium’s Elysium Project, Mick was on site signing books and taking pictures, saying, ” What the Art of Elysium does is incredible, anything I can do to support I will do!”, he added to Jen Howell “I want to do a whole series of photos and benefit your foundation.” Mick’s work is curated by L.A. Gallerist Annie Wharton and will be on display through February.

The party was scheduled from 7-10 but went well past 11 as guests were enjoying the music, drinks, artwork and of course the shopping!

As we enjoyed the evening, we also came across the most adorably dressed guest, recent Berkeley Graduate Jeremy Bamidele who rocked out with his black vintage top hat from the 1800′s, a gift from his friend Jan, owner of Berkeley Hat Store.

Michael Buble On Stage At Staples Center For His Tour Ending Show

Our dear friend Josh Meltzer, of Studley Real Estate in Los Angeles, invited us to see our friend Michael Buble’s final show of his 2010 tour, CRAZY LOVE, which he named after one of his favorite songs by Van Morrison, was a sexy yet fun show. Over 10,000 fans packed Staples Center to enjoy the cooner perform songs we all know by heart from Frank Sinatra, Van Morrison and Bobby Darrin, but also he sang the many originals he has compiled through the years and shared with us a new one titled, “Hollywood” which he and his musical director created together.

MB performed over two hours of songs, and shared the stage with his opening act Naturally 7, an incredible group of seven men who all use their mouths to make the sounds of various instruments.

Women through themselves at the stage, so much so that MB came off the stage and into the sea of fans to sign autographs and spoke directly with the crowd saying how grateful he was to have such support and love. At one point he said “the love in the room is so addictive, I have been wanting to do this my entire life and if you will have me I will keep coming back forever, at first I felt nervous till I realized no one is paying money to hate you, thank you so much for spending your hard earned money and taking time in your busy life to come join me.” Always a charmer, we were not surprised by his sweet words, nor by his handsome attire put together by his stylist and our friend, Holly Russell. MB even took the time to share photos of one of the 14 guys in his bands new born baby, thanking those guys for being his family and for their dedication.

We were lucky enough to be just 3 rows away center stage to get a close up of our pal. Keep making music Michael and please SSD readers, go out and buy his new LP Crazy Love! And check out the Naturally 7 boys.
