Dry The River

Neil McCormick, a writer for The Telegraph UK, described these Brits as having “gipsy swagger” and we could not agree more as long as by swagger he means that they make you weak in the knees while your ears are smiling. We had the honor of seeing them in a very intimate setting hosted by GenArt at SXSW, thanks to our friend Lauryn Flynn. In the midst of a very boho hidden home off the beaten path at the festival, in a tiny little neighborhood, we were introduced to our new crush. The room went silent and the group all agreed it was a magical moment watching Dry The River sing several songs. We loved them so much that we went on to see them seven more times in Austin that weekend. Take a look at this video:

The guys formed the band only in 2009, Peter Liddle (Vocals, Guitar), Will Harvey (Violin), Jon Warren (Drums), Matt Taylor (Guitar) and Scott Miller (Bass) and have been touring extensively since, bringing their soulful upbeat passionate rock. After just two independently released EPs, and a little bit of early support from BBC in 2010, they were signed to Transgressive Records to release their first single New Ceremony in March 2011. Just a year later and we are in love. There laid-back style and emo’ish vibe does nothing but make you love them.

You might have heard them if you were across the pond for Glastonbury, Great Escape, iTunes Festival, Latitude, Summer Sundae,
