Native Angeleno Danny Roberts began drawing when he was just a little boy, he has been said to draw for 15 hours at a time, hands swelling so bad he had to stop.  The hardwork paid off when at just 13 years old, he and a friend began their own clothing company which they would run till he went to Cal Poly for Photography and then eventually the Fashion Design school at the Academy of Art in San Francisco.  In 2007 he was honored by being awarded as the first featured portfolio of graduates o the WGSN Generation Now website.  Inspired by the Chanel 2007 runway show, Danny created the T-Shirt shown above, which is available for purchase on his website: igorandandre.blogspot.com/ and has become a favorite with the fashionista’s from New York to Los Angeles.

Break out pop star Katy Perry is constantly pushing the envelope.  Her songs like “I Kissed A Girl”  and “Ur So Gay” are known to stir up controversy and her fashions are no exception.  First she attends the MTV American Music Awards this Summer not wearing any bottoms and then last night at the MTV European Music Awards which she hosted in Liverpool, England, she decides to cover up —  and what better way  than with something that resembles a circus carousel!?  Well actually it’s a Manish Arora dress.

We here at Style Seen Daily salute Katy for her unique style that can’t be missed.  And we are excited to see what this vixen dares to wear next.

Now, what do you think about Ms. Perry  – is she a fashion icon in the making?

Super mom/model/mogul Heidi Klum earns our Style Seen Daily pick for most amazing jewelry spotted on the red carpet so far this year.  Above she is pictured in blackened platinum earrings that are absolutely breathtaking on her and frame her face perfectly.  Take a cue from Heidi, don’t be afraid to wear big jewelry and lots of it.

SSD friend, and jewelry expert Michael O’Conner, loaned Heidi these amazing earrings for her to wear at the Oscars.  He also loaned jewelry to Natalie Portman, Penelope Cruz and Kate Winslet to name drop just a few  (these ladies also looked amazing and you can find out exactly where their jewelry came from in our SSD slide show).  Now he is disclosing to our SSD readers what he’s heard from today’s hottest A-listers about red carpet sparkle.

“This year, celebrities draw inspiration from the timeless Hollywood icons of the 1930s depression era to bring a unique combination of understated elegance to the red carpet. The hottest styles are classic vintage and art deco Platinum pieces that are as sophisticated today as they will be tomorrow.”

Elegance & Sophistication

Understated elegance rule the red carpet with celebrities choosing to accentuate one area while downplaying others. We’re likely to see high quality Platinum pieces that have both intrinsic value and long-term durability such as vintage necklaces and bracelets that have the ability to go with every style and color choice,” comments O’Connor.

Mix and Match

“A newer trend is mixed and matched jewelry styles. Look for unique pairings such as a luxurious statement piece like a platinum and diamond bib necklace paired with simple Platinum and diamond stud earrings,” says O’Connor.

One is Never Enough

Whether they are simple Platinum bangles or chunky Platinum and diamond cuffs, one is never enough.

“Stacked bracelets piled on, is a popular trend. Some celebrities choose to forgo large earrings and necklaces, making bracelets the focus of their red carpet look,” expresses O’Connor.

 Colorful Glamour

From Platinum and turquoise oversized earrings to sparkling ruby cocktail rings, “colorful Platinum and gemstone jewelry will be noticeable on the red carpet.  Celebrities use bright colors to stand out on the red carpet and enhance their gowns,“ O’Connor comments.

More often than not, a slinky Dolce & Gabbana dress comes out and you begin to see it all over the red carpet. The favorite for the last few months was this bustier dress made of black and cream mesh. Reality TV personality Khloe Kardashian wore the dress at her 27th birthday in Las Vegas.  The following week Lauren Conrad of The Hills wore the same dress to the premiere of The Dark Knight. Conrad loved the dress so much she also wore it in her reality show promotional pictures. And finally, figure skater Michelle Kwan wore the exact dress to the ESPY Awards.

Tonight at 8pm EST Britney Spears one hour documentary “For The Record” will be available on demand on MTV.com.

“I’m not gonna sugarcoat it and say I was OK, ” she reveals in the special referring to the time, around a year ago, when she shaved her head bald, used an umbrella as a weapon, and locked herself in a bathroom with her kids for several hours before authorities were forced to take her to the hospital for suicide watch.

This is a big week of Britney — her birthday, her big documentary premiere in which she states “no question will be of limits”  (well that’s because the off camera interviewee doesn’t really ask many questions and really there’s no need to sweat over it because we will watch it either way and now this leaves something for “the autobiography” that Britney hints at in the program.  Most likely a comeback for the comeback to the comeback.  But I digress.) and ofcourse her sixth studio album “Circus” dropped on Monday too.

The documentary is essentially another tool in the Britney Spears comeback to the comeback pr machine (MTV Music Awards 2007 ring a bell!?!) aimed at showing the world that Spears is not insane, really she’s not (in the documentary she claims people take advantage of her, it’s not her, it’s “certain people”).  Britney agreed to be documented for 60 days while she goes shopping, records her music, works on a new music video (which ofcourse you will have to watch at another time) and gives diary-like entries to the camera.

Britney Spears in her MTV documentary - available online tonight at 8pm EST.

The show has its moments, like when producers placed a videographer inside Britney’s car to show what she sees when she looks out her car window — literally hundreds of screaming photographs all vying for a piece of that staggering $100 million a year that Britney photographs generate.  That 15 seconds alone makes this documentary worth watching.

People all around the world are always curious to see what Britney looks like — and now at age 27, can Britney keep eating her Dad’s grits with extra butter and still keep her abs rock solid?  These are the burning questions filling many minds right now… many of whom should probably be asking that question to themselves.

Well in honor of Britney’s self reflection, and our admittance that even though she lip syncs we still love to watch her perform, let’s also take a moment and reflect on her style.  From tummy bearing attire to lace and lots of sparkle, Britney always knows how to make a statement.  But is her fashion sense matching who she claims she is now?  Hit us up with your comments below.
