For the first time in 25 years, the Disneyland Hotel has earned AAA’s coveted 4 Diamond Award.
The Disneyland Hotel is one of Anaheim’s oldest hotels. When it first opened in 1955, there were just 7 motels in Anaheim, and none of them catered to families. Back then, the hotel had just a little more than 100 rooms.
Soon, there will be more than a thousand rooms, along with two brand new dining experiences, and a spectacular new pool. The pool features two monorail-themed water slides, and pays homage to the original Disneyland Hotel sign.
As part of the Disneyland Hotel’s massive magical makeover, two new over-the-top suites were also added–the Big Thunder Suite and the Adventureland Suite (which comes complete with a grotto, that uses light and sounds to simulate either a rain forest or an African savannah.)
When you factor in the existing Pirates of the Caribbean Suite, Fairy Tale Suite and Mickey Mouse Penthouse, the Disneyland Hotel just might be the happiest hotel at the happiest place on Earth!

One of the greatest things on earth is sharing, another is being inspired and of course having great friends. Tyler Barth of Blue Mic brought all of that to the table when he invited Jason Sydney and I to the Roxy on Sunset to see Little Dragon. Together since high school in 1996,The Swedish group consists of Swedish-Japanese singer Yukimi Nagano (vocals, percussion) and close friends Erik Bodin (drums), Fredrik Källgren Wallin (bass) and Håkan Wirenstrand (keyboards). They released their first double A-side 7″ single “Twice/Test” in 2006. The following year, the band signed with British indie label Peacefrog Records and released their self-titled debut album Little Dragon in August 2007.

Cartier Love Ad
In 2008 they were hired by Cartier for their Love ad campaign and created the song Infinite Love exclusively for the brand, which allowed for guests visiting cartier.com to download music free, or make a donation to a charity. Little Dragon was soon coined one of the most gradually addictive and possibly overlooked bands of 2007 by music lovers online.
A year later, Machine Dreams, was released, followed by their third album, Ritual Union, in July 2011. Little Dragon had a mainstream moment when their song “Twice” was featured in an episode of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy. They were given some well deserved credit by Beyond Race Magazine when they made their “50 Emerging Artists” list in 2009 and since then they have been touring around the world. Los Angeles KCRW (radio) gave them their first airtime and following that, The Roxy in partnership with KCRW, hosted them for their first performance for a crowd in the city.
Yukimi was mesmerizing, we all agreed we had never seen anyone sing and move on stage the way she did and the only time we took our eyes off of her was when she introduced the band. Her fashion style, like her singing and dancing, was carefree and unique, while impressive and likable. She won over the crowd who if they weren’t fans walking in, they certainly were walking out. After seeing such big energy from such a small girl, it’s no surprise that the band’s name was inspired by the “Little Dragon” nickname Yukimi earned from the tantrums she was once known for throwing in the recording studio.
Check them out on Jimmy Fallon, one of their first performances on a talk show. Great job to his music supervisor for scouting them out and many-many thanks to Tyler and Blue Mic for supporting these artists, we can’t wait for our next show outing with Tyler.

Tyler Barth of Blue Mic Introducing
Stars come out to celebrate IWC Schaffhausen and Peter Lindbergh’s “A Night In Portofino.” Celebrities in attendance included: Eric Dane, Patrick Dempsey, Rebecca Gayheart, Michael Muller, Sylvester Stallone, Rachel Zoe, Joe Manganiello, Mia Maestro, Maggie Grace, Justin Chambers, Alexander Skarsgard, Isabel Lucas, Shiva Rose, Goreski, Carla Gugino, Julian McMahon, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Dermot Mulroney, Rob Lowe, Daniel Henney, and Xun Zhou.

Los Angeles, CA April 28th, 2011 – Stars gathered in Culver City to celebrate IWC Schaffhausen and Peter Lindbergh’s “A Night in Portofino,” a brilliant photographic collaboration between the legendary photographer, the renowned Swiss watchmaker and IWC’s overwhelmingly talented friends of the brand. Exclusively in the US for one night, the photos capture the spirit of “La Dolce Vita” and the true elegance of Portofino in the 1960’s.

In May 2010, Peter Lindbergh, one of the greatest photographers of them all, portrayed IWC’s Friends of the Brand against the nostalgic backdrop of a 50s/60s-style Hollywood film set. Whether it was Cate Blanchett eating an ice cream whilst clutching Kevin Spacey’s arm, Elle Macpherson and Eric Dane on a scooter radiating genuine Italian lifestyle or Luís Figo and Matthew Fox aboard a sleek powerboat, the cast had a wonderful time which is clearly reflected in all of the brilliant images. The resulting exhibition, “Peter Lindbergh’s Portofino”, consists of a series of impressive black-and-white photographs and celebrated its US premiere at Culver Studios last night. The exhibition is now scheduled to continue on its world tour and will visit other major cities in Middle East, Asia, and Europe

For the exclusive US event, IWC created their own Portofino in Los Angeles. Capitalizing on the “behind the scenes” nature of the exhibition, there was no more of a perfect location than the historic Culver City Studios. When guests first arrived, they were treated to a gallery-like setting displaying almost 50 photos from the world class exhibition and also had the privilege to preview exclusive movie featuring the animation and excitement that took place during the shoot. As they moved further into the gallery, they party began to transition and everyone was transported to the Portofino harbor by nightfall. Aromas of delicacies from Italian markets filled the rooms as guests were entertained by authentic street acts and were photographed dressed up in 1960’s costumes – things even got competitive on the bocce court!

We believe its all about creating your own style and as long as your not harming anyone else, then live your life as you wish. That being said, we were really impressed to find out that one of the most independently stylish rockers Jack White and his fashion model wife Karen Elson were not only divorcing, but throwing a “divorce party”.

Official Invite of Karen & Jack's Divorce
After over six years together, and several hundred fashionable apperances, the couple announced the split and sent invites out to their closest friends, just last Friday, along with their two children Henry Lee and Scarlett. The event was private, but guests celebrated per their hosts requests with dancing, drinking and food. Similar to a birthday party, or retirement celebration, the couple showcased memorable photos of their years together. Right before the couple married they did a shoot together with the infamous Annie Leibowitz, documented by Vogue. The two have always been unique and had a very artistic style between them, both alone and together. Jack White’s representative released an official statement from Karen and Jack saying; “We remain dear and trusted friends and co-parents to our wonderful children Scarlett and Henry Lee. We feel so fortunate for the time we have shared and the time we will continue to spend both separately and together watching our children grow. In honor of that time shared, we are throwing a divorce party, an evening together in Nashville to re-affirm our friendship and celebrate the past and future with close friends and family.”
In honor of their memory, check out White Stripes video Blue Orchid, which was released just before the couple married some six years ago.
Congrats to the couple who are setting an example of peace, love and honor for their children, friends and fans!
