Sometimes we start off on one path and are lead to another, which changes everything. This can be exciting when you find yourself in love, which is what happened when NY Fashion Institute graduate Meredith Kahn went from clothing designer to jewelry creator. made-her-think

“Jewelry is given to share one’s heart, and it’s amazing to be a part of that.” Meredith mixes diamonds with feathers, various metals and plastics with multiple colors, textures and styles. The feathered bracelet here makes for a delicate, yet hip and romantic accessory. Its also so different than anything else you can find, it really feels special when you wear it.

Hollywood talent like Rihanna, Kate Hudson, Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, Kate Bosworth and Eva Mendes are among her devoted following.  Editors, tastemakers, entertainment executives, and Lower East Side hipsters are all coming together to agree that Kahn’s creations merge soft romantic with edgy chic, appealing to both the romantic and inner rock starlet in each of us.

Check out the story from Life & Style with a Q & A from Meredith;

Life & Style Made Her Think

Prices range across the board, meaning there is something for all budgets and we believe you will be seeing a lot more of her beautiful wearable art. Kahn creates limited amounts of each design and style, but a variety enough that you can purchase everything from rings, to necklaces and bracelets or even handbags to wear year round and with nearly anything. Her funky and fun style is inspiring to us here at Style Seen Daily, where we believe that we all need to create our own style and people like Kahn make it possible to do that.

At the 81th Annual Academy Awards held at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood 2009, Slumdog Millionaire Star Frieda Pinto was one of the many starlets wearing an asymmetrical dress.

The red carpet at the 2009 Oscars in Hollywood, California proved that the shoulder and collarbone is the current “it” body part.

Starlets wearing asymmetrical or strapless one color gowns to highlight this new sexy area were everywhere.  In fact, I dare you to find me an amazing dress at the Oscars that had 2 straps.  Go on post it below….

Also, it’s all about picking a color and sticking with it.  And the good news here — monochrome (ie outfits that are all one color) are great for helping you appear more slim.

We have a mini fashion round up for you —  take a look at some highlights of the fashions below in our Style Seen Daily slideshow.

You’ll find actress Amy Adams and super model Heidi Klum both in classic red long gowns.  They made their look more fashion forward with adding statement jewelry.  Adams decided to stick with one statement necklace while Klum forgo the necklace and added huge drop down earrings and 6 bangle bracelets (3 of which she designed herself for charity).

Beyonce’s look wasn’t the best marketing tool for her or her fashion line — the dress was her own, from House of Derion, and fashion critics everywhere are saying they did not like the mermaid dress.  It was too gody.  What are your thoughts?

Miley Cyrus also did not pass the fashion tests with many fashionistas.  Cyrus said the dress she wore was the first one she tried on… perhaps she should have tried on some more.  Again, it was too gody.  And it wasn’t age appropriate for the teenager.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Anne Hathaway both are examples of the several cream shimmering strapless dresses we saw on the carpet.   Both dresses looked amazing on the two style setters.

Mickey Rourke chose a white suite — sunglasses go without saying for this actor — and he had a necklace with a picture of his recently deceased dog, Loki.

Angelina Jolie also wore a strapless long gown in black.  She had amazing drop down green earrings that added a pop of color.  Jolie ofcourse wins for the best accessory  –  Brad Pitt!

And the lady of the night, best actress winner Kate Winslet, wore a two-tone Yves Saint Laurent by Stefano Pilati dress.  Again, note the “sexy shoulder.”

GQ Men of the Year Obama

GQis perhaps the most powerful men’s fashion magazine, so when their West Coast Editor Chris Huvane threw this year’s Men of The Year Party, many of Hollywood’s elite came out to celebrate. Chris hosted the party at the infamous Chateau Marmont, talented men honored on the cover issues included Obama, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mad Men’s Jon Hamm, and Michael Phelps. When the men arrived, they did their red carpet duties and were swept in the hotel’s outdoor garden area. Sadly Obama could not make it, but the rest of the cover stars were present. Other guests included; Aaron Eckhart, Outkast’s ever fashionable Big Boi, Brian Austin Green, Elisha Cuthbert, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Jason Statham, Jerry Ferrara, Jon Hamm, Jimmy Kimmel, Kevin Connolly, Matthew Fox, Megan Fox, Olivia Wilde, Rashida Jones, Rosario Dawson, Sarah Silverman, and Zac Efron.  We spent the evening with Executive Editor Adam Rappaport who introduced us to a great T- Shirt company, Bassinger, that he swears by, check out the photo below, he shared to Style Seen Daily that it’s the best shirt you could give a guy.

Also, Kelly Gray, who you might recognize as that beautiful face in all of the St. John’s clothing ad’s pre Angelina Jolie. Kelly, who has always loved the music scene, teamed up with Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue and created a new fashion line ROYAL UNDERGROUNDStarworks Co-Founder James Grant” The rocker chic line has some super soft cashmere hoodies we picked up and a full men’s line available in stores like Barney’s and Neiman Marcus. Along with us that night was also hotelier Jason Pomeranc of Thompson Hotels and James Grant, co-founder of Starworks. Men were decked out in Dolce & Gabana, Tom Ford, Prada, Gucci and even some. This is the one night then men really outshine the ladies.
Our dear friend, Degen Pener, Editor in Chief of Angeleno Magazine, was enjoying the evening and talking politics with fellow party goers. We caught up with him and insisted he pose for a photo with us, he did not mention who he was wearing, but we do know that his light blue button down and dark blue blazer really brought out his bright blue eyes!

Guests enjoyed cocktails and tray passed Chateau specials like Macaroni Balls, but at the end of the night, as we waited for our cars at the valet, a big In-n-Out burger truck passed out delicious food to everyone!
