Spotted!: Mary J. Blige performed at RPM, Vegas’ newest nightclub, at the Tropicana on New Years Eve 2012. The singer looked sleek with her pin-straight bob and bright-white Herve Leger for BCBGMAXAZRIA body-con bandage dress with gold accents, which she complimented with chunky, gold earring and gold nail polish. It’s middle of the winter, the holidays are behind us, and spring is still out of reach—all which begs the question—what to wear?  Before you go back to your basic boots and standard sweater– give your look a little va-voom and slip into a sexy men’s inspired suit.  In a sea of cocktail dresses, Jennifer Anniston wowed in her Dolce & Gabbana anything-but-androgynous two piece ensemble at the People’s Choice Awards last week—and the world took note.  So whether you’re walking the red carpet, cozying up at a romantic dinner, or hitting the dance floor with your besties—before you grab that same old, same old—suit yourself in something fabulous and new.  We hit the aisles and searched high and low for our top three picks—check ‘em out:

Great White

This cropped and tailored suit jacket is from BCBG at Westside Pavilion ($198).

Bite off a little something fierce when you suit up in white.  Tame the blinding effect by anchoring your seperates with a pop of a print, or a hint of color.  This sateen version is from Ann Taylor at Westside Pavilion ($169).

Nipped and Tucked

[/caption] Choose shapes that define you.  Suit jackets and pants can be square and slouchy—or fitted and ride your curves.  Choose body skimming pieces that quietly cover you up, yet still scream siren.  This cropped and tailored suit jacket is from BCBG at Westside Pavilion ($198).

Your Better Half

Express at The Oaks ($59.90) sells our all time favorite dress pants—the Editor.

Make sure your look is bumpin’ from the waist down.  A boot cut pant with a wide waistband, will make your legs look long and lean, while slimming the waistline.  Pair them with heels to seal the deal.  Express at The Oaks ($59.90) sells our all time favorite dress pants—the Editor.

What Lies Beneath

This sequined tank is a worthy option—also from Express at The Oaks ($ 34.90).

Counts!  Why do a simple tank or cami, when you don’t have to.  Choose a little leopard, a lot of shine, or just rock a deep v-neck let the plunging neckline speak volumes—just don’t do basic.  This sequined tank is a worthy option—also from Express at The Oaks ($ 34.90).

Natalie Portman stars in the incredible thriller Black Swan. Photo Credit: flicksandbits.com

There’s something about this time of year that makes me think of ballerinas, tutu’s and pointe shoes. It might be the fact that every year around Christmas time I make sure I catch the New York City Ballet‘s production of The Nutcracker, but this year the thought of ballet is even bigger because of the Golden Globe nominated Black Swan. First of all if you haven’t seen it, run as fast as you can to the nearest theater and see Natalie Portman in this psychological thriller, it will blow you away. I walked out of the movie wanting to buy ballet flats, tie my hair in a bun, and find all the feathered accessories I could find…. and not go insane while doing so. We here at Style Seen Daily have found some precious fashion items to help bring out your inner ballerina.

We recommend crinoline tutu skirts, feather necklaces and hair accessories, and of course, ballet flats to round out your childhood dream of becoming a ballerina.

Feathers

Feathers are very in right now so you can find something in this style for just about any price. Channel your inner Black Swan with this Top Shop Premium Feather Mini Skirt, priced at 75 Euro.

For a more affordable Black Swan accessory, try this Forever 21 Feather and Bead Accent Headband for only $2.99. Or try it in white like Portman’s white Swan Queen character.

Tutu Skirts

If you’ve ever seen The Nutcracker, you know how incredible the snowflake scene is. The way the dancers fly across the stage to the beautiful music, while snow falls down always sends chills down my spine. The costumes are breathtaking, and nothing says winter like a tulle tutu skirt, like this BCBG one, priced at $198.

Portman’s Swan Queen character looks stunning in her tutus and you can too. Pair this skirt with a cashmere sweater and pearls for a very girly, balletic look this season.

Ballet Flats

Vibrant True Ballet Flats. Photo Credit: topshop.com

The great thing about ballet flats is that they can work for a day at the office, a dinner date, or just a cute pair of shoes to hang out at home in. Pair these classic Vibrant True Ballet Flats, priced at $32, with skinny jeans and a blazer for a date, a knee-length LBD for work, or leggings with a comfy sweater for a night by the fire. Whatever way you wear them, you will feel flirty and cute, and they won’t kill your feet like five inch pumps.

Beautify your look with a low bun in your hair, and a clip a feather hairpin on the side for a swan-like accent. The best thing about these styles is how girly and fun they are, perfect for holiday parties or to feel cute while sipping your hot cocoa.

1st Look Crew Eric Wong with Style Seen Daily Co Founder Crystal Fambrini and 1st Look Co Host Viviana Vigil at Ted Baker, Santa Monica Place..

One place most people expect to see gold in fashion is jewelry, but for this upcoming fall season gold will be making a much larger statement. From handbags and wallets, to shoes, and even dresses, gold will be popping up everywhere. Style Seen Daily Co-Founder Crystal Fambrini appeared on NBC’s 1st Look highlighting some key gold pieces to add to every fall wardrobe. In the segment, Crystal pulled  pieces from several retailers at the recently renovated Santa Monica Place, like Ted Baker and Bloomingdale’s Santa Monica, to create versatile looks.

A gold Sue Wong tulle and ostrich feather dress paired effortlessly with Badgley Mischka satin heels to create an elegant, yet fun cocktail look, while an Elie Tahari metallic ruffle blouse and an orange Elie Tahari wrap skirt with metallic gold accents made an fashionable work ensemble.

1st Look Co Host Viviana Vigil, Bloomingdale's Santa Monica Rep Kerry Borland, and SSD Co Founder Crystal Fambrini.

The casual, day look that Crystal put together consisted of an Aqua metallic striped tee, black BCBG leggings, and Juicy Couture puffer vest (you’ll have to watch the video above for that look). This style, which is perfect for spending the day at shopping, was all pulled together with a shiny, gold Coach bag.

Crystal found some fabulous pieces to complement that dress that Viviana was wearing at Ted Baker, which is known for always adding a twist to their pieces. Choose an elongating and sophisticated lace-topped jumpsuit for a notice-me sleek silhouette, like this one from BCBGMAXAZARIA at Westside Pavilion ($248).

As the heat of the summer starts to simmer down—don’t let your look start to lack.  Meet fall head on with those transitional trends that carry you seamlessly from the warmer weather to the cool of winter—and, start with lace.   If your first inclination is to hesitate, let’s talk.  Don’t let this dainty fabric fool you, it’s come a long way since the decorative doily, or the cream colored curtains in your great-aunt’s living room.  Today’s lacey looks are flirty, feminine, sometimes even edgy, but–when done right—always becoming and on-trend.  So keep reading, and let us show you why you too should look to lace.

Party Perfection

When you’re hitting the evening party circuit this year, consider donning something a little spicier than your LBD of season’s past.  Choose an elongating and sophisticated lace-topped jumpsuit for a notice-me sleek silhouette, like this one from BCBGMAXAZARIA at Westside Pavilion ($248).  Or, find a little lace black dress for a new take on an old favorite.

Prim and Pretty

Here’s rust colored dream from Anthropologie at The Oaks ($248).

50s flair is flattering to all, and a nipped and tucked waisted, lace overlay dress slimming and sassy.  Wear it now while the weather’s still hot, or pairit with a cute cardigan to take it into late fall.  Here’s rust colored dream from Anthropologie at The Oaks ($248).

Classic Couture

We found this stunner at Burberry in Santa Monica Place ($1,495).

Pick traditional with a twist—a timeless black trench entrenched in delicate lace is subtle, sexy and oh-so haute.  Jackie O ain’t got nothing on you now.  We found this stunner at Burberry in Santa Monica Place ($1,495).

BCBG at Westside Pavilion ($398).

In Spring, your go-to top layer is an on-trend lightweight trench—this fall, choose a cover-up that is just as classic and versatile, and a bit warmer—the camel coat.   This autumn is all about refined elegance, classic styling with fresh twists, and old-school glamour, and a camel coat is your first stop to make it yours.  We’ll look at three variations of this must-have piece and how to pair these with the perfect something underneath.

A Mod Nod to Camel

Rock the retro look with a block cut camel coat with quiet details like this one from BCBG at Westside Pavilion ($398), pictured above.  Perfect for overt and classy style at the office or over a glam LBD and tights—c’est tres chic!

Tucked and Tawny

Ann Taylor at The Oaks ($398).

Nip it in at the waist for a preppy, and timeless take on this investment piece.  Pair with your skinnys and your boots du jour for style on the go, or layer over your leopard print sheath for instant party style.  Here’s a “one-style-fits-everyone” look from Ann Taylor at The Oaks ($398).

Courting the Camel

Nordstrom at Lakewood Center ($595).

Go flirty and feminine for the freshest new take on the camel coat.  Try romantic ruffles, draped cuts with cozy, rounded silhouettes and then belt them for a little flair on the bottom.  Wear this with just about anything– it’s an outfit in and of itself and you likely won’t take it off.  Here’s a soft, buttery version from Nordstrom at Lakewood Center ($595).
