Versace has joined Gucci and Levi’s as the latest fashion house to ban the use of sandblasted denim in its collections. Versace has committed to ban the dangerous practice of sandblasting jeans, a technique used to give jeans a used look which is highly dangerous to workers. Sandblasting is a process by which workers fire sand under high pressure at jeans.

It has been known to kill workers in garment producing countries like Turkey and Bangladesh, where jean sandblasting is done manually. The large amounts of silica dust generated during sandblasting can cause silicosis, a potentially lethal pulmonary disease, as workers inhale tiny particles of silica.Following pressure from over 1,200 activists, Versace conducted a review of its clothing suppliers andannounced that, effective immediately, suppliers would be banned from using sandblasting. Model turned designer Georgia May Jagger, daughter of rocker Mick Jagger, launched her Hudson Jeans denim collection this week at Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills. The after party moved to Soho House in West Hollywood where the band Django James & The Midnight Squires peformed.

Skinny jeans are still a hot denim piece. Darker washes update this style, with colors ranging from gray and black to acid wash. Triple threat super star Beyonce is known to be a fan of jeggings and is rocking the grey jegging trend in the picture above. Jeggings are a type of skinny jean, it’s a mix between leggings and denim. How to wear skinny jeans: Pair with a tunic style top for a flattering look. Body shapes that look best in skinny jeans: Boyish frames and those with longer legs.
Tapered leg styles are the revamped version of jeggings for those who do not want to the jean to be too skintight.Darker stonewashed styles have been popping up in stores, making it feel very 90s. We like this pair here made by Denim of Virtue.

The boyfriend cut is the alternative to jeggings. This time around the boyfriend cut has been modified to a straighter leg, making the style more flattering compared to the baggier styles of the past. Rolling the cuff of the jean is a good way to transition the look from summer to fall. Reality celebrity Kim Kardashian wears cuffed boyfriend jeans out and about in Los Angeles, proving that this style works on curvy bodies as well.
The Gap makes a few great boyfriend jeans, starting at $69.50, which is definitely easy on everyone’s pockets.

Chambray shirts are one of the hottest denim trends this fall that can be a staple in anyone’s wardrobe regardless of style and age. It looks like it could be your lover’s shirt — but more tailored. Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester has been incorporating the chambray shirt into her more casual looks when she hits the town.
For an ediger look, the chambray shirt looks great with a black or dark blue jegging. Belting the shirt helps to create a wonderful silhouette. Prepsters can incorporate a lighter chambray shirt, for example the shirt below from J. Crew $98.

From red carpet dresses to your favorite summer T-shirt, and everything in between, we had a glimpse of it all within the walls of the West Hollywood showroom of People’s Revolution, located on Melrose Avenue, the sister office to their larger New York City headquarters. Style Seen Daily stopped by to get an up close and personal look at their designers, their offices and of course, they’re style.
Walking into the fashion filled room, there is an intensity you immediatley feel, although its also very relaxed and cool, it is somewhat intimidating, especially when you meet the once described “Snow White with Razors,” Partner Robyn Berkley, who you may be familiar with from the hit show on Bravo, “Kell on Earth,” which documents Robyn and Founder Kelly Cutrone throughout their world in the fast paced fashion and art scenes. Once we spoke with Robyn, who was in fact lovely and nothing like a razor ridden cartoon, we were invited to take a look at their clients hottest styles for 2010, including dresses, t-shirts and sexy stilettos.
