Charlotte Olympia Espadrille 2012 Collection

Our friends from The Saturday Group’s RelativeMO did their Los Angeles press days at The Standard Hotel Downtown and we were lucky enough to be on site to view their gorgeous collections all at once.  Despite the awesome dresses, jackets, pants and skirts, the first thing I noticed were these perfect looking Charlotte Olympia Espadrille’s from the 2012 line.  They are the perfect color, heel height and texture for the spring and summer. Celebrity fans of the brand are sure to be photographed in these coming soon, everyone from Kate Hudson to Emma Watson, Sarah Jessica Parker to Beyonce have been snapped while kicking back in these heels.

Charlotte graduated from London’s Cordwainers in 2004 and held jobs at Ungaro and Giambattista Valli before launching her eponymous London-based shoe brand Charlotte Olympia in 2007. She quickly has become one of the most beloved brands in the UK. Her philosophy mixes femininity and old glamour with classic shapes and meticulous attention to detail. Each shoe is handcrafted in Italy using only the finest materials and is finished with the brand’s signature gold spider web on the sole.  The international media has quickly picked up on her, doing profiles on the brand and the designer in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and more.

There is an Olympia flagship store in London’s Mayfair, but also the line is sold worldwide at Bergdorf Goodman, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Neiman Marcus, Net-A-Porter, Podium and Selfridges. You may have seen her designs on the heels of models walking in various fashion shows, including Clements Ribeiro, Emilio de la Morena, Peter Som and Temperley London.

Charlotte is certainly One To Watch in America!

Yves Saint Laurent said “fashions fade, style is external.”  And we agree, but  what does it mean to us?  SSD believes that style is individualistic.   Everyone has their own unique tastes and views on life, just because something is in “fashion” doesn’t mean it works for everyone, various factors including body shape, personal preference, budget, and lifestyle all determine style.  We truly believe “style” comes from within.  Your life philosophy can be reflected in your clothes, our outer appearance makes a statement on what our inner beliefs are.  People do judge each other on appearances when meeting, it is the first thing we are exposed to before a conversation, so we want to help prepare you to score high points.  We want to help inspire you to be the best YOU.  That is really the main reason we launched Style Seen Daily in 2008.

Don’t settle for clothes or style that no longer fit you properly.   Make the right statement.  Don’t settle for less than what you deserve, or make someone else think you do.  Throw out those BAD clothes,  reflect on the statement you do want to make.  We’re not saying you have to look like you stepped out of a magazine photo-shoot, just own your appearance and be happy with it, this builds confidence.  Take a few more minutes to think about what you are putting on each day, as that’s how you will tackle the day.  Remove the options that don’t serve your image in the most powerful way and replace with choices that always make you feel good.

The Little Black Dress. A closet staple. A dress you can wear over and over again and no one will raise an eyebrow — if done correctly that is. SSD Co-Founders joined Jessica Alba as she hosted the Rimowa Luggage Store Opening in Beverly Hills and they all had one major thing in common, black.

Simon Spurr

Back in 2008 Style Seen Daily founders Crystal Fambrini and Erica Cornwall sat down with Simon Spurr to discuss his two year old menswear collection SPURR which included three styles of American made mens denim and  and his plans to launch SIMON SPURR in 2009. At the time, he had just a few employees and was really known for his previous work in house with Hedi Slimane, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren, since he has proven his talent with his creation of menswear affording timeless elegance to all. Check out our exclusive with Simon here:

As if his clean and strong design was not enough for us to become fans, his warm charming personality and British mannerisms did us in.

Not only have we watched Simon show his incredible talent by design, we have fallen for who he actually is as a person which made us that much happier when he has been honored many times in the fashion industry including in 2007, DNR awarded SPURR with the ‘Editor’s Choice Award for Best New Label.’ In 08′, GQ, in conjunction with the CFDA, named Simon ‘Best New Menswear Designers in America.’ Then in 09 he received the prestigious nomination for the CFDA/VOGUE Fashion Fund Award, then again the following year he was one of the final nominees for the CFDA’s Swarovski Award for Menswear, 2010.

Tommy Fazio Joins Simon Spurr

The Spurr family is growing steadily, in 2009, another dynamic lovable addition came on board, Tommy Fazio, who was Men’s Fashion Director at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus, resigned to become president of SPURR.  Tommy is the type of guy who will literally give you the scarf off his neck, ( we happen to be so lucky).  Together they have continued to expand the brand which is firmly built upon a framework that emphasizes color, proportion and deliberate subtly, while remaining sophisticated with precision in tailoring that finds its roots in the heart of Savile Row.  All of the brands pieces are individually designed and manufactured in Italy, France and the US using the finest fabrics in the world.  Simon’s designs have won the hearts of men across the globe, including celebrities like Justin Timberlake and Bradley Cooper, his jackets, suits and bags have become a mainstay in men’s wardrobes year round.

Simon Spurr Runway

With Tommy on board, they debuted SPURR and SIMON SPURR’s first runway show during New York Fall ’10 Fashion Week.  Highlights of the show are all over the internet and in the pages of magazines gloabally including Details, GQ, WWD and Vogue. Both brands are sold worldwide including Bergdorf Goodman, Jeffrey New York, Saks Fifth Avenue, Luisa Via Roma, The Webster, Confederacy, Harrods, Bloomingdales, Scoop and Nordstrom.

SIMON SPURR exudes Modern British elegance, we have been wearing his shirts, scarves and carrying his bags – all men’s of course – so we were thrilled to have learned that the next step for the brands, we can have our own woman’s wear because they told us they will be ramping up for the launch of a women’s ready to wear collection, sure to become a favorite worldwide. We can’t wait Simon!

Adam Levine had his annual Hollywood Halloween party at the infamous Hollywood Cemetery

Halloween in Hollywood. There is nothing like it.  The town is filled with thousands and thousands of actors who are just dying for the chance to perform, so a holiday that requires playing a character is obviously popular here and there are tons of options.  West Hollywood hosts thousands on its closed Santa Monica Blvd where costume is mandatory, performances are a plenty and a parade travels through the city.  Locals and tourists photograph all of the action and in recent years make the pictures viral in seconds.  The famed Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel turns the entire hotel into a celebration, Universal Studios houses a Haunted Maze, Knots Berry Farms turns into Knots Scary Farms, the Los Angeles Zoo offers a Haunted Hayride, and celebrities like Hugh Hefner,  Adam Levine, Kate Hudson, and B.J. Novak host annual parties — it’s nonstop and amazing.  Here are some of our past Hollywood party Halloween highlights to help inspire you for this spooky holiday.

In addition to the incredible music line up, SSD favorites include; Arcade Fire, Cold War Kids, Chemical Brothers, Kings of Leon, The Strokes, Black Keys, Interpol, She Wants Revenge, DJ Sven Vath, Kayne West and also Isabel Lucas’  boyfriends rocker Angus Stone, the scene was all about Coachella style.   While running around drinking VeeV in hand, we were able to dance to these amazing musicans, while also scoping out the fashion scene.

The most popular designers on at the festival were Zadig & Voltare, Current Elliott, Aldo Shoes, Joie, and Rag & Bone. Despite Lacoste, Mulberry and Burberry all having events on hand, the sights at the festival were less familiar this year than others, some up and coming Jeremy Scott designs as well as Camilla & Marc made their way onto girls, along with good old American brand Gap and tons of swimsuits by H&M, Zara and Roxy.

Alessandra Ambrosio

Victoria’s Secret Angel, and recent mother, was dancing to the music with some friends and her fiance Jamie Mazur. She wore a white Rebecca Taylor dress, Tolani Chakra scarf and Benjamin Eyewear Nicole sunglasses.

Kate Bosworth

Kate Bosworth, who was with her boyfriend Alexander Skarsgard, wore a Topshop American Flag tank top, paired with Current Elliott shorts and that eve changed into a flowing black Theyskens Theory Damia Dress with Joie shoes.  Every day she rocked her Ray-Ban aviator style sunglasses and loose hair.

Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie attended the Mulberry luncheon, wearing denim shorts paired with Mulberry “Annie” blouse and her very own House of Harlow 1960 “Jordana” sunglasses,  “Veronika” strappy wedges and a Mulberry small Heritage Bayswater bag.

Rihanna

Rihanna was in the audience during  Arcade Fire’s performance, wearing a camouflage jacket,  black top and jean shorts. Rihanna Tweeted: “Coachella! Fun times… Arcade Fire, u f**kin blew my mind! Felt like a kid again! U rock!!” And later that night attended Brent Bolthouse, 944 and Armani Exchange’s Carnival party off site.

Ashley Greene

“Twilight” actress Ashley Greene was with new boyfriend Jared Followill’s best friend, wearing a blue Hermanny by Vix sliding halter bikini top underneath an AllSaints Milla stripe vest with Garage  blue boyfriend shorts, and carried a Hobo Davina vintage leather handbag.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry, perhaps the most elegant of all Coachella goers, wore a white vintage D&G lace long dress with a Mercy Delta Marylebone scarf and sunglasses.

Vanessa Hudgens

Sucker Punch Films lead Vanessa Hudgens wore a crocheted Unif Birkin skirt with Kettle black double wrap belt and a blue Jen’s Pirate booty  tube top, along with a Tori Praver tie, a Natalie B. Tibet turquoise coral pendant necklace and Love Child chain drop three feather earring.

Isabel Lucas and Angus Stone

And our friend Just Jared reported and snapped Isabel Lucas and Angus Stone in their Coachella gear, check out justjared.com for more details on their looks.

Overall Coachella has once again proved to be an incredible weekend of music, sun and fun, other Hollywood land attending were musican Kenna, athelte Shawn White, entrepreuner Sean Parker (who threw parties everynight till 5am!), Clint Eastwood, Stephen Dorff, hotlier Jason Pomeranc, producers Alan & Gabe Polsky, Hautelook founder Adam Bernhard and many many more!

We can’t wait for next year.
