OK so 16 year old Justin Bieber‘s first AMAs was an A.  Well actually an A++++ as he went four for four winning every award he was nominated for including favorite artist.  He now is the youngest musician to win favorite artist in the history of the AMAs– not to mention beating out such industry giants as Eminmem, Usher, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga.

But, did he outbeat their style?  You tell us.  Comment below.

The Los Angeles based alternative rock trio The Daylights brought people out in droves to West Hollywood’s Club L to celebrate the release of their highly anticipated self-titled debut album, including their friend and fan international pop super star Katy Perry, NBC Chuck actor Zachary Levi, British singer-songwriter Daniel Bedingfield, brother of pop singers Natasha Bedingfeld and Nikola Rachelle, Wallflowers’ Rami Jaffe, Step Up 3D’s Rick Malambri, singer  Caitlin Crosby, as well as members of Foo Fighters and Goo Dolls.

Texan twin brothers Ran Jackson (guitars / vocals / piano), Ricky Jackson (bass / vocals / guitars) and drummer Svend Lerche of Denmark make up this amazing group.  As a band, they’ve been compared to the talented Kings of Leon and Radiohead, and have been deemed one of Katy Perry’s favorite bands. They very recently arrived back from Katy Perry’s sold out American tour, and are currently on tour with Civil Twilight.  For their first album, they teamed up with producer Youth (Paul McCartney, U2, The Verve’s “Bittersweet Symphony”), Michael Brauer (Coldplay, Doves), Dave Sardy (Oasis, Jet), and Tim Palmer (U2). The first single “Rogue Machine (Don’t Say That You Want Me)” is now playing on radio stations around the country, and steadily climbing up the top 50 on the Hot A/C Chart.

“We are so fortunate to have worked with an all-star team on the album,” says Ricky Jackson. “Ran and I grew up in small Texas towns listening to a lot of music from Europe, and Svend grew up in Denmark listening to a lot of American bands, so it’s a unique and natural blend of the two.”

With Katy Perry making her way through the crazed paparazzi outside, a heartfelt introduction from the wonderful Zachary Levi, the lights went down, and The Daylights stepped on stage.

Katy Perry headed to Club L in Hollywood.

The energy in Club L heightened, as the crowd rocked out to the impassioned lyrics of The Daylights’ Weapons. Easily one of the most underrated unsigned bands in the business, they dominated the stage and captivated the audience with each performance.

On the brick walls of Club L, projected The Daylights first music video, directed by Walter May, who also directed Katy Perry’s first video. We spoke with Walter about The Daylights video and where he draws inspiration, he says, “I think about how I feel when I hear the music. How do I want other people to feel? The whole process of putting a music video together is an incredibly emotional process.”

The stage not only illustrated the trio’s closeness as a group, but with the Texas and Denmark flags draped on the wall behind drummer, Svend Lerche, you realize this band is a  not only a blending of exceptional talent, but quite literally, people from varied places, creating and jamming together.

NBC Chuck lead, and The Daylights’ good friend and fan, Zachary Levi MC’ed the event, while DJ Trent Dean kept the music fresh, and the party going into the wee hours of the night. Photographer Daniella Hovsepian helmed a photo booth adjacent to the stage while Shamrock Social Club gave people new tattoos.

Proceeds from the party, sponsored by Lhasa Beer, Shamrock Social Club and Koffeehouse Music, went to support Red Eye Charity. This charity provides a platform for artists to develop and expand their talents through social gatherings, humanitarian relief and an exploration of the arts.

Even as The Daylights show was coming to a close, the passion and energy in Club L just kept growing.

As I walked out, the DJ still spinning, people still grooving on the dance floor, it was the blarring echo of ”Encore! Encore!” that wouldn’t leave my mind. I wasn’t the only one that thought they hadn’t had enough of The Daylights.  It’s a show you shouldn’t miss.

SSD Teammember Francesca Baldi at the Volcom Spring 2011 Fashion Show.

California’s surf legends fashion brand Volcom kicked off the summer with a splash as they launched their Spring 2011 collection of swimwear and must-haves to get temperatures to reach smokin’ hot.  And I was there ready to report for my first Style Seen Daily article.

Volcom fans and fashionistas filed into the Cooper Design Space in Downtown Los Angeles to catch a glimpse of what to expect for Spring bikini season. The ambience was a beachy urban vibe that made for some great fashion finds in the crowd. From western to hipsters I saw it all…heaven.

Models of the Runway Volcom Spring 2011 Fashion Show.

The show kicked off with a bang as the crowd got to catch a few clips of a So Cal summer with bikini clad beauties. The models rocked it in some amazing pieces that made me want to buy one of everything. From denim, to florals. Volcom stopped at nothing to make their Spring 2011 collection unstoppable. The one thing that I loved the most about the show was none other than the…SHOES! What gal doesn’t just LOVE a pair of clogs? The models were sporting remarkable clogs that are the newest fashion find to hit the streets of LA along with some Jeffery Campbell wedges that made me fall in love, so as the rest of the crowd watched the bikinis pass by I was addicted to the footwear.

Killer Hair That will Have You Going Gaga.

Hair Accessories and Jazzed up Heals Make for the Perfect Summer.

Not only the shoes but also the accessories made me go gaga. I absolutely want to start wearing more accessories in my hair…it gives Ke$ha a whole new meaning. Feathers, flowers and neon’s oh my.  After a day with all that in my hair I can image quite a neck ache, but those models rocked it flawlessly.

Volcom Model Bikini Clad and Loving it.

Bigger is better maybe when you’re in Texas, but here in Cali we like to think the smaller the better when it comes to swimwear. It’s all about flaunting that itsy bitsy bikini and let me tell you, Volcom mastered the art in their 2011 Spring Swimwear collection. The bathing suits featured in the show were an eclectic blend of high wasted pieces, itsy bitsy bottoms and cutouts that will make you go gaga for glamorous swimwear…I fell in love.

Volcom Models Rock Fabulous Hair Accessories.

Volcom must have picked up from the words of Katy Perry, “Daisy dukes, bikinis on top” because from flannels to daisy dukes the models were flaunting the necessary pieces for a perfect day at the beach. Because we all know…”California girls we’re unforgettable!”

Katy Perry performing at the 2009 MTV European Awards. Perry also hosted the entire show.

Break out pop star Katy Perry is constantly pushing the envelope.  Her songs like “I Kissed A Girl”  and “Ur So Gay” are known to stir up controversy and her fashions are no exception.  First she attends the MTV American Music Awards this Summer not wearing any bottoms and then last night at the MTV European Music Awards which she hosted in Liverpool, England, she decides to cover up —  and what better way  than with something that resembles a circus carousel!?  Well actually it’s a Manish Arora dress.

We here at Style Seen Daily salute Katy for her unique style that can’t be missed.  And we are excited to see what this vixen dares to wear next.

Now, what do you think about Ms. Perry  – is she a fashion icon in the making?
