As a self-proclaimed Prime Time TV Know-It-All, I make sure to know everything and anything that goes on in the television world, especially when it comes to fashion. This year’s prime time line-up has been phenomenal, from award-winning shows like Glee and Modern Family to guilty pleasures like Vampire Diaries and Pretty Little Liars, there is always something fabulous and fashionable to watch. As if listening to the magnificent voices of the Season 10 contestants isn’t entertaining enough, we get to see the amazing wardrobe of Jennifer Lopez and the female contestants twice a week on AI. Yes, Ryan‘s suits are perfectly tailored, and Steven‘s bell-bottoms are divine, but JLo steals the show with her perfectly quaffed hair, flawless make up, and absolutely daring and stunning fashion choices. I love how she embraces her curves and always stands out in edgy, yet girly designs.

The FOX show has even upped their contestants’ fashion, by incorporating L.A.M.B. designer and pop-star Gwen Stefani into last week’s show to style the three female singers. One of my favorite top 9 contestants, Pia Toscano, who shockingly got voted off far too early, was dressed by Gwen in a Safari print romper an edgy accessories on Wednesday night.

There’s no doubt that the upper east-siders of Gossip Girl are the best dressed cast on TV, but what makes them stylish enough to be dubbed the “new Sex and the City” of fashion? The wardrobe stylist for GG, Eric Daman, makes sure each character has their own unique style and pushes the envelope in everything they wear. From trendsetting with Blair‘s headbands and plaid school-girl skirts, to mixing styles with Serena‘s boho-chic flair with polished wealthy looks, Daman has set the bar high on The CW Show.

I don’t even think I could tell you what is going on plot-wise right now on the show, but the fashion always sticks out. This show is constantly inspirational on the fashion front.
Not only is this show one of my favorites due to it’s acting, writing, and thick drama, but it also boasts beautiful clothes. The setting, a Chicago law office, does not jump out and say high fashion, but the leading ladies and men wear stunning suits and outfits that you would see on any fashion week runway. Diane and Alicia, played by Christine Baranski and Julianna Margulies, are always dressed to the nines in their pencil skirts and tweed blazers; their sophisticated suit jackets are to die for.

Lay the right foundation. Prime your lips for all day staying power, and to ensure that the cheeky orange color stays put and doesn’t gravitate towards your teeth.
Find your match made in color heaven. Not every orange is for every girl. If you’re fair and flushed—pink toned corals or peaches will be most flattering, and still be right on trend; if you’re a chic shade of olive or medium to dark skinned—you can go big and bold, and very, very orange.
By day or by night? All typical rules of lip intensity apply: for a perfect pout before the sun sets, look for sheer shades or shiny glosses. Pair with a complimentary lip liner if needed to boost your color, but keep it on the mild side. When headed out in the eve, pile on the creamy or matte, all out, opaque color. Line your lips with foundation to keep your lines sharp and your color from bleeding.

It’s great to see ladies like Gossip Girl lead Leighton Meester and Super actress Liv Tyler switch off between gowns and jeans on the red carpet, proving there are lots of ways to stay casual while keeping with the glamour of an event. What girl doesn’t want to keep it comfy yet still look amazing?

Platforms, wedges, and oxford flats are all the rage right now so its easier to keep your shoe choices fun. Strappy heels and black satin pumps are great for the Oscars, but for a more laid-back event, spice up your casual outfit with a studded heel or lace up flats and you will instantly glamorize your look. A great date movie: The Tourist ” The Perfect Trip, The Perfect Trap” gives you a luxurious glimpse of Venice with two of the most beautiful people on earth, Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, this action/Thomas Crown type mystery/comedy/romance follows Depp, aka, Frank, an American tourist in Venice who’s trip brings him Jolie aka Elise, a beautiful, mysterious woman, who seemingly is interested in him, but little does he know its a trap as she is just trying to connect with Alexander Pearce her lover, who is wanted by both the law and the Russian mob for stealing billions of dollars, the almost Hitchcock feel to the filming creates something unique that both men and woman can appreciate. “It should make people feel good. It’s got lovely twists and turns,” Jolie said. “It’s a throwback in a way to old school thrillers,” said Depp.
Natalie Portman
To see someone else frustrated with their mom and finally get your boyfriend to enjoy some form of ballet: escape with a thriller of illusions and racy scenes, with Black Swan. Natalie Portman plays uber innocenet Nina who lands the coveted dual role of the Swan queen in Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, she is the quintessential White Swan, but has to work insanely hard to exude the darkness of the Black Swan. Mila Kunis plays Lily, another, more sensual dancer, vieing for the same role and “friends” with Vincent Cassel’s character who of course plays the Director. Winona Ryder also makes an apperance as the Black Swan retiring. Like all of Darren Aronofsky’s movies, this psycho-thriller was shot in an edgy way that really stands out. Portman went through intense ballet training for a solid year for the film. “it’s so vicious on the body. And you never see it. It’s like you see those beautiful images and underneath it is some really really grotesque detail,” Portman said. Amy Westcott, costume designer, does an incredible job.
Dorff & Fanning
If silence is what you seek, learn to appreciate the art of acting with few lines to speak and the potential sadness of a lifestyle that the tabloids all make seem so glamorus. Stephen Dorff does a great job of covincing us his riches do not nearly fulfill his life, and seems to only find real happiness with his daughter, played by Elle Fanning. Shot at the famous Chateau Marmont, Sophia Coppola wrote and directed this film which, like Lost in Translation, approaches film making from more of an artistic subtle style, forcing the actors to really focus on their body and facial expressions as the verbal language is slim. Somewhere won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival and premiered in both LA and NY last week.
Jake and Anne
Girls Night Out: For a healthy dose of love, laughter and tears, see “Love And Other Drugs” this movie follows Jake Gyllenhaal who plays a cocky sales rep who meets a terminally ill patient while posing as a doctor, the firey bohemian patient is portrayed by Anne Hathaway, their relationship grows into something neither of them expected, while reminding us what loving someone really means.
Guys Night Out: The Fighter, based on the true story of the early years of boxer “Irish” Micky Ward (Mark Whalberg) and his brother (Christian Bale) who helped train him before going pro in the mid 1980s, Amy Adams plays Micky’s smalltown sweetheart. It is well, very Rocky like, but it is a beautiful story for the boys and Bale’s perforamce is surely one to snag him an Oscar.
Gwen at Country Strong Premiere
If you want a little Country in your life, check out Country Strong, its a story about a rising country-music songwriter (Garrett Hedlund, also stars in TRON) who sparks with a country legend who lost her way (Gwen Paltrow). Together, they mount his ascent and her comeback, which leads to romantic complications involving her husband/manager (Tim McGraw) and a beauty queen-turned-singer (Leighton Meester). Gwen sounds incredible singing, while we always fall for Tim McGraw.
James Franco
And if you feel like giving up, this will make you think twice, 127 Hours is the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston’s incredible journey to save himself after a fallen boulder crashes and traps him in a canyon in Utah. For five days, Ralston aka James Franco, discovers if he has the courage to extricate himself by any means necessary, he scales a 65 foot wall and hikes over eight miles. Throughout his survival, he reflects on his life prior to his accident and you will find yourself counting your blessings for how lucky we all really are. Franco’s performance is Oscar worthy.

In 1984, Producer Jerry Weintraub made a movie about the underdog and it became a huge hit, with kids leaving the first screening of it practicing that infamous crane kick used in the final fight and dressing up like Ralph Macchio’s character Daniel LaRusso. Will Smith must have been one of those fans, because he and his production company Overbrook Entertainment partnered with Weintraub to update the 80′s franchise, Karate Kid, and this time around Smith brought his own 12-year-old son Jaden to take on the lead role. The entire Smith family came out in support, not only are they all incredibly talented ( 9-year-old Willow sings and acts, Trey plays sports), they all show their own unique style with their fashion choices.

Star of the film Jaden, clearly brought out a Michael Jackson Thriller type jacket, reminding us of the times of the original Karate Kid premiere some 26 years ago. Its great to see parents allowing their kids to have fun dressing up while also showing respect for the 80′s!

Original Karate Kid Macchio, now 48, seems to have hardly aged since playing the role that made him a household name around the globe, at 22 years old. He posed for photos with Jaden and seemed proud to pass the “wax on, wax off” torch to the new generation.

Mr. Myagi, a role originally next to impossible for the producers to cast, was played by Noriyuki (Pat) Morita, and he won an Oscar for his performance, but sadly passed away before he could see this remake. Jackie Chan, who some were suprised to see playing a role as serious as this one, was quoted saying he was terrified to play such an iconic role, but we think he handled it with perfect style and grace.

The boyfriend cut is the alternative to jeggings. This time around the boyfriend cut has been modified to a straighter leg, making the style more flattering compared to the baggier styles of the past. Rolling the cuff of the jean is a good way to transition the look from summer to fall. Reality celebrity Kim Kardashian wears cuffed boyfriend jeans out and about in Los Angeles, proving that this style works on curvy bodies as well.
