She paired the dress with Norah snakeskin pumps, complimented the ensemble with chunky rings, bracelets and necklaces, and topped it all off with a pop of red from the croc Olivia clutch, all from House of Harlow 1960. In addition to the incredible music line up, SSD favorites include; Arcade Fire, Cold War Kids, Chemical Brothers, Kings of Leon, The Strokes, Black Keys, Interpol, She Wants Revenge, DJ Sven Vath, Kayne West and also Isabel Lucas’  boyfriends rocker Angus Stone, the scene was all about Coachella style.   While running around drinking VeeV in hand, we were able to dance to these amazing musicans, while also scoping out the fashion scene.

The most popular designers on at the festival were Zadig & Voltare, Current Elliott, Aldo Shoes, Joie, and Rag & Bone. Despite Lacoste, Mulberry and Burberry all having events on hand, the sights at the festival were less familiar this year than others, some up and coming Jeremy Scott designs as well as Camilla & Marc made their way onto girls, along with good old American brand Gap and tons of swimsuits by H&M, Zara and Roxy.

Victoria’s Secret Angel, and recent mother, was dancing to the music with some friends and her fiance Jamie Mazur. She wore a white Rebecca Taylor dress, Tolani Chakra scarf and Benjamin Eyewear Nicole sunglasses.

Kate Bosworth, who was with her boyfriend Alexander Skarsgard, wore a Topshop American Flag tank top, paired with Current Elliott shorts and that eve changed into a flowing black Theyskens Theory Damia Dress with Joie shoes.  Every day she rocked her Ray-Ban aviator style sunglasses and loose hair.

Nicole Richie attended the Mulberry luncheon, wearing denim shorts paired with Mulberry “Annie” blouse and her very own House of Harlow 1960 “Jordana” sunglasses,  “Veronika” strappy wedges and a Mulberry small Heritage Bayswater bag.

Rihanna was in the audience during  Arcade Fire’s performance, wearing a camouflage jacket,  black top and jean shorts. Rihanna Tweeted: “Coachella! Fun times… Arcade Fire, u f**kin blew my mind! Felt like a kid again! U rock!!” And later that night attended Brent Bolthouse, 944 and Armani Exchange’s Carnival party off site.

“Twilight” actress Ashley Greene was with new boyfriend Jared Followill’s best friend, wearing a blue Hermanny by Vix sliding halter bikini top underneath an AllSaints Milla stripe vest with Garage  blue boyfriend shorts, and carried a Hobo Davina vintage leather handbag.

Katy Perry, perhaps the most elegant of all Coachella goers, wore a white vintage D&G lace long dress with a Mercy Delta Marylebone scarf and sunglasses.

Sucker Punch Films lead Vanessa Hudgens wore a crocheted Unif Birkin skirt with Kettle black double wrap belt and a blue Jen’s Pirate booty  tube top, along with a Tori Praver tie, a Natalie B. Tibet turquoise coral pendant necklace and Love Child chain drop three feather earring.

Overall Coachella has once again proved to be an incredible weekend of music, sun and fun, other Hollywood land attending were musican Kenna, athelte Shawn White, entrepreuner Sean Parker (who threw parties everynight till 5am!), Clint Eastwood, Stephen Dorff, hotlier Jason Pomeranc, producers Alan & Gabe Polsky, Hautelook founder Adam Bernhard and many many more!

We can’t wait for next year.

LOS ANGELES - April 12, 2011 - Cameron Diaz wore THE GIRLS apparel while out and about with Yankee-beau, Alex Rodriguez in NYC. The super toned star looked fit in her Tummy Control Capri Pant (style #7079, $30). THE GIRLS are celebrities’ favorite work-out pant; Katie Holmes, Nicole Richie, Kate Hudson, Amanda Seyfried, Emma Roberts, Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port, Ashley Tisdale, and Amy Adams are all fans of THE GIRLS- they’re the new secret to looking fabulous and fit!

When People Magazine news broke that “Blake Swan” Golden Globe nominee actress Natalie Portman was not only engaged to 33 year old Benjamin Millepied, but expecting a baby, men all over the world sighed while every fashion house in the world began clamoring to dress the actress, who already was on all of their award season dressing lists, alas, sad for some, we suspect she may already have a brand in mind.  For a moment though, lets put the man before the dress, 29 year old Portman has been busy, upcoming she will appear in “No Strings Attached”, “Your Highness” and “Thor”, but  it was Black Swan that brought her true love. The very handsome, French born, Benjamin Millepied, choreographed the film and trained Portman and Mila Kunis, while also acting as her dance partner.  Benjamin is a principle dancer with the New York City Ballet, with plans for more acting roles. Check Millepied, out in Details magazine back in June, who could predict how serious their relationship had become!

Now back to the wedding dress, for years Portman has worn tons of Rodarte, by Los Angeles designers/sisters Laura and Kate Mulleavy, so it seems quite predictable the sisters will indeed make her wedding dress.  At the Venice Film Festival she wore an incredible red claret silk tulle draped gown and they even created her TuTu for the Swan film, as well as many other costumes.

She also recently wore a lovely pink and floral Rodarte with a colourfully beaded waistband as “Black Swan” closed AFI Fest 2010 in LA, another of several dresses throughout the year she was photographed in. So, while many celebrites choose Monique Lhuiller, Vera Wang or Karl Lagerfeld,  Rodarte does seem right for her, however we should mention she’s also a Christian Dior girl, often carrying their handbags and we can’t forget they created a whole line of Vegan shoes for her. Peoplestylewatch.com quotes her saying, “One of the things that’s been so nice is Dior made all of the shoes for me with no animals and no leather, they remade all of my shoes so I can wear Dior without taking lives.”

In 2008 Portman was the face of their Miss Dior Cherie perfume, but does appear usually only wearing clutches by Dior, and fellow Vegan Stella McCartney, creates incredible Vegan shoes too of which Portman is a fan. Perhaps a dress by Rodarte, a handbag by Dior and shoes by Stella?

Or Portman can always seek elsewhere, maybe consult Kate Middleton, who has many designers sending sketches her way, but may end up going with designers Elizabeth and David Emanuel, who did Princess Diana’s dress along with Madonna’s, Elizabeth Taylor, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.  Or Nicole Richie’s choice, Marchesa, an incredible look for the petite bride.

Whatever this Harvard Graduate choses, she always looks terrific and does things that continue to make us adore her, even while off screen, including rocking a Rodarte for Target slip dress which costs $39.99 at Target.com. See below:

We wish Portman all of the happiness in the world and can’t wait to read all of the coverage, see all of the photo’s and watch more movies with her as the star.  What a Happy New Year, we hope she brings home the Oscar and the Golden Globe, since she already has the man and the baby on the way it would seem like her fairytale deserves the ultimate happiness in all areas of life. Note to self, consider going Vegan.

New Spring fashion lines are filling up stores and inspiring us to go out and buy floral sundresses, bright colored tops, and of course, sandals. Step out in style like Waiting for Forever actress Rachel Bilson and get those toes out from being cooped up in boots for months and try out some of this season’s most fabulous designs.  I’ve  narrowed down the new styles and am sharing some of my favorites with our loyal Style Seen Daily fashionistas.   From flats to edgy platforms, here are some fabulous finds to add the needed spring in your step …

Flats

SSD friend and 90210 actress Shenae Grimes loves strutting around town in stylish sandals, and these Steve Madden Boundd flats, priced at $59.99, add a new twist to the traditional gladiators. They can be dressy with dark jeans and fancy top or casual on the beach with a swim suit and a boho dress.

Blush and nude colored shoes are a trend that seem to be sticking around, and we know why. These Dolce Vita Idalia Flat Thong Sandal, priced at $163, are so classic and beautiful.

We love the tassels for an added edge, and they literally match anything you wear this spring and summer.

Platforms

When you’re hitting the clubs on those hot summer nights, you’ll want to channel fashion designer  and Beastly actress Mary-Kate Olsen, and find a sexy pair of heels that won’t leave your feet hot by the end of the night.

These Kelsi Dagger Frayne Platforms, priced at $125, are an edgy alternative to pumps for your warm nights out on the town.

Wedges

We love Nicole Richie‘s boho-chic style and her eclectic House of Harlow 1960 jewelry and shoe line. The best thing about these Veronika Woven Wedge Sandal, priced at $240, is how comfortable and versatile they are to wear. A fabulous pair of wedge sandals is a tough find each summer, you want to find a neutral color, a shoe that makes your legs look great without compromising your comfort, and a pair that goes with everything. I love that the Veronika Wedge has a simple shape but a intricate design.

You can also use the House of Harlow shoes as inspiration for a more affordable pair of wedges, like these Aldo Alapai sandals, priced at $100. They have a similar woven design and the wooden wedge is so stylish for summer.

Style Seen Daily attended the 2nd annual THE Hospitality Suite at the Nivea For Men Mansion, hosted by Pascal Mouawad, in celebration of the 68th Golden Globe Awards. Celebrities like model and Resident Evil: Afterlife actress Milla Jovovich, Actress Jennifer McCarthy, former bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky and numerous TV Actors from Glee, 90210 and more attended the suite to check out new products and get pampered for the start of the 2011 award season.  Check out our coverage of this lovely event set in Pascal’s amazing Beverly Hills private home.

Pascal is the owner and CEO of Mouawad Jewelry, and gifted thousands of dollars worth of amazing jewels to a few lucky actresses, like Milla Jovovich and Jennifer McCarthy to name a few.

Mouawad’s precious jewelry has been seen on red carpets worldwide, on such celebrities as Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie, and Paris Hilton.

Pascal also created Glam House, a company for which he teams up with Hollywood designers like Nicole Richie, Erin Wasson, Jermaine Duprie, and Kim Kardashian to create their jewelry lines. Check out Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow 1960, my favorite is her Abalone Station Necklace, priced at $150.

From manicures to massages, and champagne to Brie cheese, THE Hospitality Suite had something for everyone to prepare for the red carpet at the Golden Globes.

Actress Christine Lakin, best known for her childhood role in the TV show Step by Step, got her makeup done by a celebrity makeup artist with products from Valerie of Beverly Hills. The smoky eye was the “it” look of the event, and it looked bold and elegant.

Beverly Hills salon Gavert Atelier hair stylists were using new Joico products such as their Brilliantine Spray Gloss and innovative flat iron.

I was a lucky girl at this event, as Stylist Mika Fowler was nice enough to straighten my hair.  Mika is famous for “dry cutting” — where she cuts your hair dry.  Mika said this allows for a much better cut. Actresses like AnnaLynne McCord and Rosario Dawson’s amazing locks are just some of  Mika’s famous clients.

Joico celebrity stylist George Papanikolas was also there to talk to guests about the best products for their hair.

He recommends the K_Pak ReconstRx VaporIron for any style. It holds a reservoir of VaporFuel to keep the hair smooth and healthy as you apply heat from the iron. It is great for straightening and curling, and then finish off the look with the JoiMist for a good hold and shiny finish.

Chef Keven Alan Lee, CEO of My World On a Plate caterers, put out a beautiful spread of cheeses and breads from around the world.  Some of the cheeses included French creamy Brie de Meaux and  Roquefort.

Lee told us that his design for this event was fresh simplicity, he wanted the presentation to reflect the delicious taste of the food. The Chef sent servers around the mansion with plated appetizers liked lobster brioche, innovative caprese spears which featured mozzarella and tomato on a syringe-like skewer with a sweet balsamic vinegar, and steak tartare, all of which were handed to guests who held a glass of champagne or Neuro water.

Pandora Jewelry expanded their line from just charm bracelets to stackable rings, inventive earrings and necklaces. Guests were able to make their own Pandora bracelets, I chose a grey leather bracelet with turquoise and silver charms. Dark grey is this seasons best color, and matched with turquoise makes the bracelet wearable in any season. Check out the Pandora web site to see all the different combinations you can make for your Pandora bracelet.

My favorite piece in their collection was their 18K Gold Pave Diamond Ring, priced at $850. They come in rose gold and white gold and can be worn all together in a stack. It is so original, yet still classic.

The Office actor Creed Bratton made a bracelet in the mansion’s Pandora room.

Celebrity Stylist Lindsay Albanese was there to show off some designs that would be perfect for the Golden Globe red carpet. She’s styled a ton of celebrities for red carpet events, including Audrina Patridge, Maria Menounos, and Paula Abdul. She handed out an emergency kit and told us that is is so important to always have a safety pin, fashion tape, and a Shout wipe handy when attending any dressy affair.

Lindsay introduced us to Melanie Harris designs which had fun and flirty dresses for the red carpet.  My personal favorite was the Shelly dress because Harris took an 80′s look of sequins and a puffed skirt and made it very modern.

Another glam dress line featured perfect for award season was Chagoury Couture.

Chagoury Couture is known for beautiful gowns and dresses like this Leather Strapless Boustier with Lurex Strip Short Skirt .

Leggs stockings were featured and offered to guests, they are a must-have for any high-fashion event ofcourse.

Also Lipsy, the trendy London-based brand that has fun and cute dresses, jackets, showed off their flirty designs and handed out their new perfume.

Celebrities like Taylor Swift and Katy Perry are huge fans of Lipsy because their clothes are sexy, yet sweet.

Men gravitated to a room dedicated to Camacho cigars featuring three different crisp flavors from Cuban CEO Christian Camacho.

The garage of this massive Beverly Hills home was turned into a barber shop run by LA based The Proper Barber Shop’s Trent Magnano.

He shaved the male guests and used Nivea for Men products while they watched ESPN and sipped on Ciroc Vodka drinks.

Congrats to our Style Seen Daily friend Jen Betts, Live Loyal PR CEO, who did a wonderful job putting together this two day event.  Now that everyone has been pampered by the best and shown the most gorgeous designs of the year, we are officially ready for the red carpet and for 2011 award show season.

She’s a celebrity, has two babies, has a rock star as a significant other and a famous Dad… She’s Nicole Richie. Now, once again, there’s a possibility that she’ll be heading to a TV set near you. This time, not in something reality-based. Nicole is working closely with writers and producers to get a TV show about her off the ground. The deal, inked with ABC as a potential host, has been in the workings for some time, including a first try which didn’t go over so well earlier this year.

This specific series will follow Nicole, playing herself, as she navigates through the world of being a celebrity mom in Hollywood and juggling her career with raising a family. Not exactly a stretch for the star who, in addition to acting, also runs a successful clothing line called House of Harlow.

No specific details on the show have emerged besides the basic plot point, except the fact that Jeff Rake is on board. Rake is a writer who helped pen some witty dialogue for Alicia Silverstone, when she made a venture to TV in Miss Match. Considering that show lacked viewers, but was praised by critics, here’s to hoping Richie has a great team behind her.

No stranger to the small screen, Richie was able to flex her acting muscles in a fun turn on Chuck. While guest-starring on the series, she was able to mix some action with some comedy and came out on top. If the series fails, I’m positive she’ll have something to fall back on. Possibly one of her other ventures… writing… perfume… jewelry…

The trendy W Hotel Westwood, Los Angeles now features the new LA based fLuXuS modern fashion exhibition on display until the end of 2010. Style Seen Daily attended the exhibit’s kick off party and talked with CEO and Founder Martin Paquette about the inspiration behind the fashion and art.

Fashionistas like Megan Fox, Rachel Bilson, Kim Kardashian and Nicole Ritchie are all fLuXuS fans.

Fox is wearing the popular fLuXuS Long Tab Cardigan, priced at $110.

Project Runway’s Season Three winner Jeffrey Sebelia is fLuXuS head designer joined the brand in 2009 to create looks that are edgy and artsy, yet still practical. Owner Pauqette thought Sebelia is the perfect fit for the company because his styles reflected that mid-century artistic look that defines fLuXuS.

The posh lobby of the W Hotel was filled with fashionable women and men gazing at the stylish art. Everyone was sipping on red and white wine, eating appetizers like chicken satay and stuffed mushrooms, and chatting with their friends about the designs.

fLuXuS  is known for it’s relaxed day-time style that mixes artistic shapes with rich, soft fabrics.  Popular items include loose-fitting tops like the Flare Tunic, priced at $99, the flowing jersey-knit dresses like the Data Rock Dress, $99, and the comfortable draping sweaters, like the Zanine Wrap, priced at $128.

Paquette told us he loves collaborating art and fashion and looks to blend mid-century and modern designs together with an artistic edge, adding a twist to the W’s Living Room. Paquette said his designs are all about versatility, able to be worn by different age groups, ethnicities, and style. From edgy, to classic parisian, to california day wear,  fLuXuS designs are great for anyone.

“I love collaboration, anything that can combine fashion and art is very Fluxus,” Paquette said of his company and the art they show off to the community.

Paquette decided to create trendy dresses made of newspaper for two of the statues because it incorporates fashion with an artistic edge. The Avant Garde headpieces offer dimension and shape to the mannequins.

The third mannequin will switch out every week to  feature a different outfit from the  fLuXuS Fall/Winter 2010 line.  The signature outfit at the opening party consisted of a textured and patterned pant with a soft leather jacket and a tube scarf.

Paquette has a special fondness for his lines’s trench coat, priced at $275. “I love all the pieces, they are all so different, but the trench is just such a classic look, it is definitely my favorite,” Paquette said of his design.

fLuXuS has four California locations: Fashion Island, Larchmont Village, Brentwood Village, and the newest store at the new Santa Monica Place.
