Project Runway winner Christian Siriano can now add “sponge designer” to his resume —  we here at Style Seen daily are sure these sponges will leave your dishes feeling fierce.  The Siriano sponges are the first of a long list of houseware items the designer plans on introducing to the market.

The designer partnered with O-Cel-O sponges (which I already buy because of the cute polk a dot designs).  The sponges come in four different colors — with styles including leopard and a stylised face motif.  The price is right for us — 2 for $2.59 or 3 for $3.60.

Leopard print sponges are long overdue.  Pretty, pretty brilliant if I do say so myself.  Goodbye gross green sponges, hello sexy sponges.

Look for these designer sponges in your local grocery store.

The trendy W Hotel Westwood, Los Angeles now features the new LA based fLuXuS modern fashion exhibition on display until the end of 2010. Style Seen Daily attended the exhibit’s kick off party and talked with CEO and Founder Martin Paquette about the inspiration behind the fashion and art.

Fashionistas like Megan Fox, Rachel Bilson, Kim Kardashian and Nicole Ritchie are all fLuXuS fans.

Project Runway’s Season Three winner Jeffrey Sebelia is fLuXuS head designer joined the brand in 2009 to create looks that are edgy and artsy, yet still practical. Owner Pauqette thought Sebelia is the perfect fit for the company because his styles reflected that mid-century artistic look that defines fLuXuS.

The posh lobby of the W Hotel was filled with fashionable women and men gazing at the stylish art. Everyone was sipping on red and white wine, eating appetizers like chicken satay and stuffed mushrooms, and chatting with their friends about the designs.

fLuXuS  is known for it’s relaxed day-time style that mixes artistic shapes with rich, soft fabrics.  Popular items include loose-fitting tops like the Flare Tunic, priced at $99, the flowing jersey-knit dresses like the Data Rock Dress, $99, and the comfortable draping sweaters, like the Zanine Wrap, priced at $128.

Paquette told us he loves collaborating art and fashion and looks to blend mid-century and modern designs together with an artistic edge, adding a twist to the W’s Living Room. Paquette said his designs are all about versatility, able to be worn by different age groups, ethnicities, and style. From edgy, to classic parisian, to california day wear,  fLuXuS designs are great for anyone.

“I love collaboration, anything that can combine fashion and art is very Fluxus,” Paquette said of his company and the art they show off to the community.

Paquette decided to create trendy dresses made of newspaper for two of the statues because it incorporates fashion with an artistic edge. The Avant Garde headpieces offer dimension and shape to the mannequins.

The third mannequin will switch out every week to  feature a different outfit from the  fLuXuS Fall/Winter 2010 line.  The signature outfit at the opening party consisted of a textured and patterned pant with a soft leather jacket and a tube scarf.

The signature look at the Fluxus exhibit changes every week

Paquette has a special fondness for his lines’s trench coat, priced at $275. “I love all the pieces, they are all so different, but the trench is just such a classic look, it is definitely my favorite,” Paquette said of his design.

The Beverly Center's Fashion's Night Out on September 10, 2010.

From Japan to Australian Fashion’s Night Out hit the globe Friday, September 10, 2010 to many a shopper’s delight. And Los Angeles celebrated for the first time in LA history a fabulous night of fashion with parties and events happening at the sametime all over the city.  Rodeo Drive was closed to traffic so shoppers could stroll the street. The Beverly Center was LA’s fashion hub, with free shuttles to all the shopping parties around Los Angeles. The center hosted events of all sorts with celebrities like Will.I.Am and Danielle Alonso in attendance.  As a celebration to fashion, and to help spur consumer spending, this event was sponsored by Vogue Magazine as an appreciation of the fashion and retail industry.  Festivities were in full swing as Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa kicked off the evening declaring shoppers to shop until they dropped.

The event began with a glamorous fashion show which stared Style Seen Daily friend, Stephanie Pratt of “The Hills,” to walk down the runway. This seasons hottest looks for men and women and top designers dresses pulled from the Beverly Center itself made a great runway show. After the fashion show, acrobats took over the runway and impressed the crowd with their remarkable talent of flips, spins and lifts that would make your head spin.

Glitz, Glamor and sales oh my! What more can a girl ask for? Stores were giving out discounts galore as well as free cocktails that made pulling out that credit card a little bit easier. Stores like Steve Madden, Chinese Laundry, Coach and Victoria’s Secret were getting the party started with DJs bumping great jams and killer sales.

Project Runway’s Robby Kashou was outside of Papyrus signing autographs and featuring one of his newest gowns. Not only was this gown absolutely beautiful, but it was made entirely out of paper products that could be found inside the store. Talk about P.S. I Made This. I got to see the dress up close and personal and also talk to Robby himself, and let me tell you, this dress was something that should be on the red carpet.

With a night full of shopping, spending and soaking up the glamourous ambience it was time to call it quits and gear up for next year’s big event. So watch out fahionistas, LA will be pulling out even more stops for next years fashion extravaganza, and I am already marking it down on my calendar.

September 08: Rachel Zoe and Kate Hudson attend Bravo's The Rachel Zoe Project series launch party at The Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City.

Rachel Zoe dresses high profile celebrities and as a result demands high fees rumored at upwards of $6,000 a day.

The Rachel Zoe Project on Bravo is about the inner workings of Zoe’s world as she attempts to turn her style into a brand.

Zoe makes the perfect reality star and the decision to have a cable show was really a no brainer as she didn’t have much to lose in the general public’s eye. While respected in the fashion world for dressing high profile stars like Demi Moore, Cameron Diaz and Kate Hudsen, Zoe’s public image desperately needed a make over due to accusations of drug use and promoting the stick-thin image. Los Angeles Times once claimed Zoe was “single-handedly bringing anorexia back.”

“I don’t think it’s fair to say that I’m responsible because I’m a thin person, that because I’m influencing their style I’m influencing what they eat,” Zoe stated. “There was this crazy rumor that I was getting diet pills from Mexico and distributing them. I was like, ‘Okay, I’ve never even tried cocaine. I don’t do drugs — I’m too much of a control freak’.”

But Zoe’s past drama in the press seemed to finally work in her favor. The premiere episode of her reality show got higher ratings than the first episode of Project Runway with 527,000 eyes.

Bloggers immediately took to the Internet and typed they were surprised how personable Zoe came across on television. The mainstream press, however, turned out to be a different story. New York Times television critic Ginia Bellafante called Zoe “a pox on humanity” and her “mad consumption … downright unseemly.”

Zoe, who reportedly cried after reading the NYT review, once again defended herself telling the LA Times: “It was the strangest thing in the world for someone who has never met me to accuse me of making our society superficial. Judging the state of society based on me? A ‘pox’? This show is not an effort to solve world issues. It’s a bit of glamour, a bit of an escape.”

Zoe got the last laugh as despite criticism show ratings continued to climb and we here at Style Seen Daily know that Zoe is going no where but up, up, up.

SSD Co-Founder Crystal Fambrini profiled Zoe for Current TV.

THIS JUST IN:  Kate Hudson will be appearing on Project Runway  Season Six.

After almost a year of waiting, Project Runway FINALLY returns to television.  The new season is on Lifetime, not Bravo, Thursdays at 10pm ET/PT.

Now we can’t tell you if Hudson will be a judge or what exactly she will be doing, you will have to set your Tivo’s for that, but we can let you know that she will be looking fabulous thanks to her stylist Rachel Zoe (who of course has her own reality show on PR’s ex network, Bravo).

Official word is not out whether “PROJECT RUNWAY” Season 6 will be put back on the television schedule but word has hit that Bravo’s latest creation called “THE SEW OFF” (Working Title) hopes to give fans their dose of watching up and coming fashionistas battle it out to be the next “it” designer.

The Sew Off  will feature 10 established designers who will be paired with well-known individuals who are highly regarded in their own field of expertise (i.e; architect, interior designer, fashion editor, model, actor, photographer). Each week, the teams will create garments and ultimately the winner will be determined and will see their line manufactured and sold.

The show’s producers are now scouting for resident judges.
