Los Angeles, CA April 28th, 2011 – Stars gathered in Culver City to celebrate IWC Schaffhausen and Peter Lindbergh’s “A Night in Portofino,” a brilliant photographic collaboration between the legendary photographer, the renowned Swiss watchmaker and IWC’s overwhelmingly talented friends of the brand. Exclusively in the US for one night, the photos capture the spirit of “La Dolce Vita” and the true elegance of Portofino in the 1960’s.

“PETER LINDBERGH’S PORTOFINO”

In May 2010, Peter Lindbergh, one of the greatest photographers of them all, portrayed IWC’s Friends of the Brand against the nostalgic backdrop of a 50s/60s-style Hollywood film set. Whether it was Cate Blanchett eating an ice cream whilst clutching Kevin Spacey’s arm, Elle Macpherson and Eric Dane on a scooter radiating genuine Italian lifestyle or Luís Figo and Matthew Fox aboard a sleek powerboat, the cast had a wonderful time which is clearly reflected in all of the brilliant images. The resulting exhibition, “Peter Lindbergh’s Portofino”, consists of a series of impressive black-and-white photographs and celebrated its US premiere at Culver Studios last night. The exhibition is now scheduled to continue on its world tour and will visit other major cities in Middle East, Asia, and Europe

PORTOFINO COMES TO CULVER CITY

For the exclusive US event, IWC created their own Portofino in Los Angeles. Capitalizing on the “behind the scenes” nature of the exhibition, there was no more of a perfect location than the historic Culver City Studios. When guests first arrived, they were treated to a gallery-like setting displaying almost 50 photos from the world class exhibition and also had the privilege to preview exclusive movie featuring the animation and excitement that took place during the shoot. As they moved further into the gallery, they party began to transition and everyone was transported to the Portofino harbor by nightfall. Aromas of delicacies from Italian markets filled the rooms as guests were entertained by authentic street acts and were photographed dressed up in 1960’s costumes – things even got competitive on the bocce court!

Mix Of Fall 2010 Trends, Including Military Styles and Chunky Sweaters.

Fall is right around the corner and the latest trends for the season are making the migration into fashion forward wardrobes everywhere. From military styles to camel and grey pieces, a new fresh twist on fall fashions are being spotted around the country.  We here at Style Seen Daily have picked out five hot trends to help you transition into the upcoming season.

Fall into Autumn Right With These Five Hot Style Seen Daily Trend Picks

Rihanna seen rocking fall fashion must have; over-the-knee boots.

#1 Get a Leg up With Over The Knee Boots

Over-the-knee boots are returning as a trend for this upcoming season. They made their popular debut last fall, but they have come back with a fun new flare. Lots of zippers can be seen on these sky-high boots. Skinny jeans or jeggings make a great compliment to the boots for a polished look. Many celebrities ranging from Rihanna to Kate Hudson have been seen sporting this hot trend with boots from Jimmy Choo and Stuart Weitzman just to name a few.

Jessica Alba wearing a saddlebag while out for the day with her daughter, Honor.

#2  Saddle up!

The trend in handbags for this season is the saddlebag.  Look for saddlebags ranging in richer, deeper shades of leather such as camel and burgundy. The size of the actual bag van vary, from the teeniest of bags, big enough for only a lipstick and wallet to larger bags that can hold enough for a quick weekend getaway.  Many celebrities like Jessica Alba, Kourtney Kardashian and Katie Holmes have been spotted using a saddle bag to tote around their personal items.

#3   The “it” color:  Camel

Not only is camel seen as a popular color for saddlebags but it has also been popping up in fashion as a hot fall trend. Camel has become the new black. Camel outfits from head to toe are incredibly popular as the season changes. Many shades of the color have been seen in higher end boutiques and regular merchandise stores alike, making it easy to mix and match pieces in order to create the perfect look.

Lauren Conrad recently spotted wearing trendy deep navy nail polish.

#4   Metallic Blue and Gold For Nails

On the beauty end of things, nail polish trends are changing with the season. As we move from summer to fall the trend in nail colors tends to get a little darker as well. Deeper, darker hues of colors have been popping up on celebrity fingers recently. Red wine colored polish is always a staple in any fall wardrobe. Some more playful colors are also top trends this season, like metallic blue and gold. Lauren Conrad is always a nail trend follower, recently spotted wearing a metallic navy blue on her fingers.

Rachel Zoe sporting the hottest trend in hair right now; chunky waves.

#5 Wavy Hair Trend Continues Past Summer

Chunky mermaid waves continue to rule in hair trends even though the summer is ending. Charlie’s Angels hair styles match well with any of the boho chic looks that we have been seeing pop up on fashion followers everywhere. This style does translate well with more classic looks as well, helping to make even the most simple outfit look more put together. Celebrities like Rachel Zoe and The Kardashian Sisters are infamously known for their love of the long wavy look.

People EXCLUSIVE: Rachel Zoe and Brad Goreski Calling It Quits — Amicably

“Bananas!” Celeb stylist Rachel Zoe and her bow-tie clad assistant Brad Goreski have sadly decided to go their separate ways, effective Oct. 1. “I love Rachel and she’s taught me everything I know,” Goreski, 33, tells PEOPLE exclusively. “But there’s a point where either I do it now or I’ll never know what it’s like to spread my wings and soar.” Breaking the news to Zoe about a month ago was nothing short of “major.” “We couldn’t stop hugging and we couldn’t stop crying,” she says. “He did this with such class and elegance. And I get it. I just told him, ‘I’m here for you always.’” Goreski is counting on that. “I hope she’ll continue to teach me more and more,” he says. And while the dynamic duo’s frenzied pace has been constant fodder for Bravo’s The Rachel Zoe Project, filling Goreski’s designer shoes will be no easy feat. “We have a relationship that’s not normal. I jump into bed with him and wake him up and we have these pow wows and he’s like, ‘Wow, I haven’t brushed my teeth,’” Zoe says. “I don’t want to hire somebody for the purpose of the show, we just got lucky. No one’s ever going to be Brad to me.” For more of Zoe and Goreski’s exclusive interview, pick up this week’s issue of PEOPLE on newsstands Oct. 1.

Rumor: Brad Goreski Split From Rachel Zoe Because of His Times Profile

Source: NY Mag

Brad and Rachel told People they decided to break up  out of love and respect for one another. But rumors are going around that it’s not true at all! Sources say some jealousy was brewing between Rachel and Brad since Brad was becoming such a star in his own right. Gossip blog Pop Eater reports:

“Fashion week was definitely the turning point,” a friend of Rachel’s tells me. “Brad was sitting on the front row of every show and getting invited to as may events as his boss. However the final straw was when Brad appeared on the cover of The New York Times style section. Rachel hit the roof and reminded him he was her assistant and it was called ‘The Rachel Zoe’ show not the Brad Goreski show. That was the moment that the two of them were over.”

Sources tell me that Brad has already been approached by several production companies about staring in his own fashion reality show. No news yet on whether or not Rachel’s stable of celebrities, including Demi Moore, Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz or Anne Hathaway will remain with Zoe or follow Brad.

We saw Brad sitting a row behind Rachel at at least one Fashion Week show. Also, Brad has always come to Fashion Week and attended his own events without Rachel, so it’s hard to know if she really felt like he was encroaching on her place in the sun scene. And it’s not his fault he’s likable, enjoys dressing well, and likes attention! We’re epically curious to see how his departure will affect her Bravo show. She’ll either need to hire someone as entertaining, catty, and forthright as Brad or get pregnant to keep the series at the same level of amusing. Well, unless Rodger comes out with a ravenous love of argyle.

Andy LeCompte Shares Madonna’s Style Secrets

Oscar Time

Bosworth, Bailey & Williams

Christopher Bailey is Chief Creative Director of Burberry, responsible for the brands image including all advertising, corporate art direction, store design of all 100+ retail locations and visuals, as well as design of all product lines and collections.  154 years ago, when Burberry was born, they become famous for making the trenchcoat more fashionable than ever before, and now, after dominating the fashion scene for longer than any of us reading this have been alive, there is a new launch, Burberry Beauty.

Burberry Beauty Products

Bailey, who is credited for transforming Burberry into a billion-dollar global powerhouse, and decided it was time to develop and launch the brands first make up collection.  In celebration of the launch, Baliey traveled to New York, San Francisco, and our home town Los Angeles – where we were fortunate to meet up with him at the former home of Tom Cruise in Bel Air – thanks to our amazing friend Lauryn Flynn, Director of VIP & Music Relations at Burberry.

Burberry Beauty Launch - Tea in Bel Air

Bailey hosted the Brit-inspired tea party in the private garden poolside, and the dining room became a cosmetics counter.  Among the 70 or so guests were May Anderson, Kate Bosworth, Serena Williams, Lake Bell and stylist Rachel Zoe, all of whom enjoyed the beautiful day, listening to music from the likes of Kings of Leon to Sting, munching on petite sandwich’s (crustless of course), sipping on Pim’s cocktails and cucumber water, while sampling Buberry Beauty like Burberry Skin, Glow, Lips and Eyes.

Burberry Beauty Campaign

“Burberry Beauty” includes foundations, blushers, lipsticks and eyeshadows, and its very British palette is inspired by the house’s iconic trench coat. In keeping with its quintessentially English vibe, the ad campaign features British models Lily Donaldson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Nina Porter.

“We’ve chosen three British beauties we’ve worked with before and who are part of the family,” Bailey said. “Rosie has this effortless sexiness to her; Nina has an edge and attitude; and Lily is a classic British beauty. When you put them all together, you have a pure Burberry expression.”

Burberry Beauty Lips, Eyes and Face

The products (priced from $27 for an eyeliner to $55 for a wet-dry foundation) come in metal packaging etched with Burberry check. Foundation shades are based on the earthy shades of the iconic trench. The Light Glow blush, in colors like russet, blossom and cameo, are mostly translucent, and the Lip Glow has a great plumping effect. The Sheer Powder Eye Shadows, in stormy khakis, blues, lavenders and grays, are easy for anyone to use.

Bailey said, “I started to think about  makeup a few years ago, while working on a runway show. where it seemed clear that this concept was the only one that we were missing to fully express a world and state of mind”

The collection is fused with inspiration from the classic Buberry trench coat, locking in that timelessness with innovation and functionality.  The make up line is available exclusivley at Nordstrom and www.burberry.com across the US, Canada and Europe.  We were lucky to leave with an incredible gift bag full of products to take home and packaged in a great clutch by Burberry of course.

Expect to see much more from Burberry, Bailey is building on the brands history with innovation and is reaching out to the next generation, starting now with this beauty line, but also doing an entire social networking site, digital advertising and even a fashion show webcast that let consumers order on the spot.  Burberry’s comeback, that Bailey lead,  just keeps on coming and coming.   With a following like Bailey has and the incredible staff around him, Burberry is sure to continue to surprise us and entice us.

September 08: Rachel Zoe and Kate Hudson attend Bravo's The Rachel Zoe Project series launch party at The Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City.

Rachel Zoe dresses high profile celebrities and as a result demands high fees rumored at upwards of $6,000 a day.

The Rachel Zoe Project on Bravo is about the inner workings of Zoe’s world as she attempts to turn her style into a brand.

Zoe makes the perfect reality star and the decision to have a cable show was really a no brainer as she didn’t have much to lose in the general public’s eye. While respected in the fashion world for dressing high profile stars like Demi Moore, Cameron Diaz and Kate Hudsen, Zoe’s public image desperately needed a make over due to accusations of drug use and promoting the stick-thin image. Los Angeles Times once claimed Zoe was “single-handedly bringing anorexia back.”

“I don’t think it’s fair to say that I’m responsible because I’m a thin person, that because I’m influencing their style I’m influencing what they eat,” Zoe stated. “There was this crazy rumor that I was getting diet pills from Mexico and distributing them. I was like, ‘Okay, I’ve never even tried cocaine. I don’t do drugs — I’m too much of a control freak’.”

But Zoe’s past drama in the press seemed to finally work in her favor. The premiere episode of her reality show got higher ratings than the first episode of Project Runway with 527,000 eyes.

Bloggers immediately took to the Internet and typed they were surprised how personable Zoe came across on television. The mainstream press, however, turned out to be a different story. New York Times television critic Ginia Bellafante called Zoe “a pox on humanity” and her “mad consumption … downright unseemly.”

Zoe, who reportedly cried after reading the NYT review, once again defended herself telling the LA Times: “It was the strangest thing in the world for someone who has never met me to accuse me of making our society superficial. Judging the state of society based on me? A ‘pox’? This show is not an effort to solve world issues. It’s a bit of glamour, a bit of an escape.”

Zoe got the last laugh as despite criticism show ratings continued to climb and we here at Style Seen Daily know that Zoe is going no where but up, up, up.

SSD Co-Founder Crystal Fambrini profiled Zoe for Current TV.
