You know it’s summertime in Hollywood when the private mansion pool parties start up.  And yup, the Nivea and Shay Todd Summer Chateau Party In Bel Air did look exactly like a scene straight out of Entourage.  Khloe Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Rosario Dawson, Lawrence Bender, and Tokio Hotel were just some of the VIPS who attended this posh pool party.   Props to Brand Link Communications for a super fun and fabulous day.  And while you can check out the weekly’s for the red carpet photos, isn’t it better to get a glimpse into the actual party with us here at Style Seen Daily?  So, check out some of our fun pictures from the soiree…

This summer’s hottest trend is practically nothing.  Fashionistas have been spotted on red carpets everywhere in nude dresses, shoes, pants, and tops, and they look stunning. The Cannes Film Festival was filled with gorgeous actresses in equally as gorgeous get-ups. Angelina Jolie stunned in a Ferragamo belted dress while promoting her new animated film Kung Fu Panda 2 and Sleeping Beauty actress Rachel McAdams went retro in Monique Lhullier nude pants and gold corset outfit. GQ Men of the Year Obama

GQis perhaps the most powerful men’s fashion magazine, so when their West Coast Editor Chris Huvane threw this year’s Men of The Year Party, many of Hollywood’s elite came out to celebrate. Chris hosted the party at the infamous Chateau Marmont, talented men honored on the cover issues included Obama, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mad Men’s Jon Hamm, and Michael Phelps. When the men arrived, they did their red carpet duties and were swept in the hotel’s outdoor garden area. Sadly Obama could not make it, but the rest of the cover stars were present. Other guests included; Aaron Eckhart, Outkast’s ever fashionable Big Boi, Brian Austin Green, Elisha Cuthbert, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Jason Statham, Jerry Ferrara, Jon Hamm, Jimmy Kimmel, Kevin Connolly, Matthew Fox, Megan Fox, Olivia Wilde, Rashida Jones, Rosario Dawson, Sarah Silverman, and Zac Efron.  We spent the evening with Executive Editor Adam Rappaport who introduced us to a great T- Shirt company, Bassinger, that he swears by, check out the photo below, he shared to Style Seen Daily that it’s the best shirt you could give a guy.

Also, Kelly Gray, who you might recognize as that beautiful face in all of the St. John’s clothing ad’s pre Angelina Jolie. Kelly, who has always loved the music scene, teamed up with Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue and created a new fashion line ROYAL UNDERGROUND. Starworks Co-Founder James Grant” The rocker chic line has some super soft cashmere hoodies we picked up and a full men’s line available in stores like Barney’s and Neiman Marcus. Along with us that night was also hotelier Jason Pomeranc of Thompson Hotels and James Grant, co-founder of Starworks. Men were decked out in Dolce & Gabana, Tom Ford, Prada, Gucci and even some. This is the one night then men really outshine the ladies.
Our dear friend, Degen Pener, Editor in Chief of Angeleno Magazine, was enjoying the evening and talking politics with fellow party goers. We caught up with him and insisted he pose for a photo with us, he did not mention who he was wearing, but we do know that his light blue button down and dark blue blazer really brought out his bright blue eyes!                      

Guests enjoyed cocktails and tray passed Chateau specials like Macaroni Balls, but at the end of the night, as we waited for our cars at the valet, a big In-n-Out burger truck passed out delicious food to everyone!

The exhibit was the first of its kind for Vanity Fair. Guests had the opportunity to view numerous VF covers, rare photos from the archives, and video playing on plasma televisions throughout the musem featuring behind the scenes footage from famous editorial photoshoots, including one with George Clooney.  And who can forget the infamous “Moore Demi Moore” cover.

This August 1991 Vanity Fair cover with a pregnant Demi Moore is one of the most highly regarded magazine covers of all time, and it is one of photographer Annie Leibovitz's best known works. This cover was very controversial at the time with critics saying it was obscene. This cover made pregnancy photos fashionable.

This cover is on display at LACMA or, as SSD discovered, you can purchase your own for just under $30 on ebay.

The party was a hot ticket, drawing out numerous celebrities, including Mischa Barton, Joan Collins, Rosario Dawson, Illeana Douglas, Minnie Driver, Brian Grazer, George Hamilton, Mandy Moore, and Rainn Wilson.  You can see what these celebs were wearing, and our SSD review, in the gallery below.

At the end of the evenings, invited guests received a Burberry gift bag that included a Vanity Fair Portraits Coffee Table book. 

The Los Angeles presentation, which is sponsored by Burberry, will be the only U.S. stop on the exhibition’s international tour.  The exhibit is open to the public and will go from October 26 to March.  For tickets visit www.lacma.org.
