Spotted! Rihanna, debuting new rocker-esque platinum blonde tresses, seen out and about in Hollywood with BFF and assistant Melissa. The sultry songstress was donning a $629 Stella McCartney knit sweater in neon orange, along with ripped jean shorts, Ray-Ban wayfarers, and Christian Louboutin leather thigh-high boots. Yet another daring combo from the young fashionista.  Find the sweater at Neiman’s Here.

Kate Hudson in Stella McCartney

Spotted! Kate Hudson attended the 2011 British Fashion Awards in London on Monday, November 28,2011.  She looked radiant in her dramatic Stella McCartney one-shoulder cut-out dress.  The see-through mesh panel along the torso accentuates her lean body.  When in doubt, black is always an excellent choice for any occasion.

Johnny Depp plays a journalist named Paul Kemp, who moves from Manhattan to Puerto Rico after accepting a job at  The Daily News back in the 1950′s.  Hunter S. Thompson’s novel The Rum Diary, which the film is based on, is very typical of Thompson’s novels which almost all include jealousy, treachery, love, violence and substance abuse.

Nothing is more chic than the timeless Little Black Dress. We like to think of the LBD as a blank canvas. Paired with the right shoes a LBD can make you look like a vixen. Throw a blazer over a LBD and it’s instantly office appropriate.  New Los Angeles based label Capretta Couture took the little black dress and meshed it together with sheer polka dots to create this stunning and sexy black mini. Aside from the phenomenal fit, the dress is edgy but still very feminine; so chic that it requires little to no accessories.

Marion Cotillard at London Premiere of Public Enemies

Beautiful French Actress Marion Cotillard, who gained worldwide recognition and an Oscar last year, is stepping into her fame gracefully. Attending the London premiere of the much anticipated film Public Enemies where she co-stars with Johnny Depp and Eric Bana, Marion wore a bright red Vivienne Westwood satin strapless dress, oversized Stella McCartney handbag. At the films after party, which took place at London’s Home House, we asked the actress about her gorgeous shoes and she told us they were by Christian Dior, who she is a spokesperson for.

Both Johnny and Marion are scheduled to head to Paris next, where Marion is sure to make another elegant apperance on the red carpet.  Johnny, who seems to be getting more handsome with age, was dressed film themed appropriate, styled by Samantha McMillen, he signed autographs as he greeted fans for more than an hour.

Ben Millepied, Darren A, Portman and Vincent C

When People Magazine news broke that “Blake Swan” Golden Globe nominee actress Natalie Portman was not only engaged to 33 year old Benjamin Millepied, but expecting a baby, men all over the world sighed while every fashion house in the world began clamoring to dress the actress, who already was on all of their award season dressing lists, alas, sad for some, we suspect she may already have a brand in mind.  For a moment though, lets put the man before the dress, 29 year old Portman has been busy, upcoming she will appear in “No Strings Attached”, “Your Highness” and “Thor”, but  it was Black Swan that brought her true love. The very handsome, French born, Benjamin Millepied, choreographed the film and trained Portman and Mila Kunis, while also acting as her dance partner.  Benjamin is a principle dancer with the New York City Ballet, with plans for more acting roles. Check Millepied, out in Details magazine back in June, who could predict how serious their relationship had become!

Darren, Natalie (In Rodarte) and Ben

Now back to the wedding dress, for years Portman has worn tons of Rodarte, by Los Angeles designers/sisters Laura and Kate Mulleavy, so it seems quite predictable the sisters will indeed make her wedding dress.  At the Venice Film Festival she wore an incredible red claret silk tulle draped gown and they even created her TuTu for the Swan film, as well as many other costumes.

Portman in Rodarte at AFI for Black Swan

She also recently wore a lovely pink and floral Rodarte with a colourfully beaded waistband as “Black Swan” closed AFI Fest 2010 in LA, another of several dresses throughout the year she was photographed in. So, while many celebrites choose Monique Lhuiller, Vera Wang or Karl Lagerfeld,  Rodarte does seem right for her, however we should mention she’s also a Christian Dior girl, often carrying their handbags and we can’t forget they created a whole line of Vegan shoes for her. Peoplestylewatch.com quotes her saying, “One of the things that’s been so nice is Dior made all of the shoes for me with no animals and no leather, they remade all of my shoes so I can wear Dior without taking lives.”

2009 Oscars Portman in Rodarte with Dior Clutch

In 2008 Portman was the face of their Miss Dior Cherie perfume, but does appear usually only wearing clutches by Dior, and fellow Vegan Stella McCartney, creates incredible Vegan shoes too of which Portman is a fan. Perhaps a dress by Rodarte, a handbag by Dior and shoes by Stella?

Wedding Gown Sketch for Middleton

Or Portman can always seek elsewhere, maybe consult Kate Middleton, who has many designers sending sketches her way, but may end up going with designers Elizabeth and David Emanuel, who did Princess Diana’s dress along with Madonna’s, Elizabeth Taylor, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.  Or Nicole Richie’s choice, Marchesa, an incredible look for the petite bride.

Whatever this Harvard Graduate choses, she always looks terrific and does things that continue to make us adore her, even while off screen, including rocking a Rodarte for Target slip dress which costs $39.99 at Target.com. See below:

And we also love her for going Vegan after reading Jonathon Safran Foer’s book Eating Animals.  For those of you who wished you had bought some of her shoes she designed with Te-Casan, the designers that had to close,  we found a few on amazon, warm enough for the winter too! Check out our here.

We wish Portman all of the happiness in the world and can’t wait to read all of the coverage, see all of the photo’s and watch more movies with her as the star.  What a Happy New Year, we hope she brings home the Oscar and the Golden Globe, since she already has the man and the baby on the way it would seem like her fairytale deserves the ultimate happiness in all areas of life. Note to self, consider going Vegan.

With stars like the Kardashian sisters and the cast of Gossip Girl gracing the red carpet at the 2010 Teen Choice Awards, there was no doubt that the Teen Choice awards would be a fashionable venue. The fashions on the red carpet, which was turned into a blue carpet for the event, ranged from trendy to classic, but all were equally fabulous. Hosted by Katy Perry, along with co-hosts from the hit show ‘Glee,’ the Teen Choice Awards definitely held their own in Hollywood this year.

Mini dresses were seen all over the red carpet in many colors and textures, from a sophisticated, organza Stella McCartney dress to an asymetrical Preen bandage dress. One trend that was hot on the red carpet was the nude look. Many stars, including Lea Michele, of ‘Glee’ and Selena Gomez, donned nude heels with their mini dresses. ‘Twilight’ star Ashley Greene also accentuated her summer glow with a blush colored dress by Valentino that featured floral detailing.

Disney Channel star Selena Gomez took home the title of Female Choice Red Carpet Fashion Icon, in addition to a couple other awards, and her red carpet choice for 2010, a white BCBG mini dress, was definitely one to be seen. Choice Male Hottie and ‘Twilight’ actor, Taylor Lautner, was also named Male Choice Red Carpet Fashion Icon. Lautner’s simple, yet fashionable, look combined ”The Shirt” by Joe’s with J Brand slim, straight leg jeans. The 2010 Teen Choice Awards were no doubt a fashionable, fun event for all ages, and even stars like Cat Deeley and LL Cool J made an appearance at the award show.  Over the past 12 years, the Teen Choice Awards have evolved into an event that all celebrities want to attend. The signature, custom-made surfboard awarded to winners has even become a coveted piece among many young celebrities. Since 1999, the Teen Choice Awards, which aired Monday, August 9th on Fox, have been devoted to honoring achievements in entertainment, as decided by teens.

PARIS — A second high-style/low-price hook-up took place last week from the same source: Tokyo Fast Retailing, which is the umbrella company of the American brand Theory.

Olivier Theyskens, the Belgian designer known for a couture sensibility, has been tapped by Andrew Rosen, chief executive officer of Theory. In the spirit of the Jil Sander/Uniqlo collaboration — but at a middle-market price point — Mr. Theyskens is taking to Main Street an aesthetic that has formerly been seen at the Paris houses Nina Ricci and Rochas.

“I think it is a breakthrough for the next generation — it has to do with clothes that are not so preciously made, but made with great integrity,” said Mr. Rosen, who founded Theory in 1997 in partnership with Elie Tahari. “Today, you can’t just be good — you have to be great. I want to be proud of the clothes I make.”

Mr. Theyskens, 33, admits that he has had problems reconciling his haute design with the frustration that it was unapproachable to his own generation.

“For a long time I have been thinking about affordable fashion — you can be disappointed when not so many people can wear your stuff,” Mr. Theyskens said. It was a learning curve to work with Theory to make “a perfect modern look” and take responsibility for its development, he said.

The Theyskens capsule collection, which will be shown in New York in September for the Spring 2011 season, by appointment, will fill the barren middle ground between high street and high end. This is the territory that Mr. Rosen has explored with Theory, aiming for a no-fuss emphasis on wearable, well-made clothes.

“I think the space is very crowded and the idea is to find new ways to stimulate the customer,” said the executive, who met Mr. Theyskens by chance when he was launching a book in New York.

Eager shoppers have been teased with short-lived collections from major designers ever since Karl Lagerfeld partnered with H&M in 2004, setting off a slew of further collaborations from Comme des Garçons at H&M to the current Stella McCartney line for GapKids.

But if Theory succeeds in bringing designer clothing down to a reasonable price on a more permanent basis, it will help usher in what already seems like the dawn of a new 21st-century fashion era.

The catwalk for the 2009 autumn collection at Paris Fashion Week was a happy themed one. Models were smiling up and down the runway, something previously never really seen in Paris.

Stella McCartney‘s show was all smiles and full of supporters like her father, Sir Paul McCartney as well as her sister Mary both sat front row along with; Beth Ditto, Thandie Newton, Kanye West, Pink, Charlotte Casiraghi, Salma Hayek, and Francois-Henri Pinault.

McCartney showed delicate and beautiful cocktail dresses that put aside her typical sportier looks and let loose the “Stella Girl” as she put it.

Also shown were jumpsuits, knit sweaters and elegant cocoon coats with skinny belts – everything well tailored and “grown up” while maintaining the style she is known for which is simply and easy going unfussy style with sex appeal.

McCartney mentioned backstage that she liked to take things apart and then put them together again, as a result she used spliced tulle and silk as well as black lace floating down arms which was actually an illusion of sleeves.

McCartney proves that you can make desirable fashion while maintaining your ethics as a strict vegetarian, such as herself.

Stella’s refusals to work with leather and furs have previously been rumored to hinder the style of her shoes and bags – this year she turns that around – if it was ever even true. Her new collection has knee high boots in faux leather and knitted silk. Stella has succeeded in creating must have items that even PETA will approve of wearing.  She has also rose above the previous gossip that she was “just a pop star’s kid” and developed real design chops and respect sans dear old dad.
