Style Seen Daily  attended the “Montblanc Signature For Good Gala Benefitting UNICEF” held at the Los Angeles Paramount Lot.

It almost felt like the Oscars itself, as a slew of A listers dressed to impress came out to support this major charity initiative for worldwide literacy.   We talked one on one with all the stars present, and have an exclusive photo of Reese Witherspoon (who donated $50,000 to the charity!).

Style Seen Daily gives you an exclusive look inside the Montblanc & UNICEF charity event with host Reese Witherspoon.

The ‘Montblanc Signature for Good’ activity is one of Montblanc’s major charity initiatives. Their kick-off event unveiled 12 portraits of Internationally known actresses Emily Blunt, Marcia Cross, Andie MacDowell, Helen Hunt, Lauren Hutton, Milla Jovovich, Jessica Lange, Eva Longoria, Sienna Miller, Christina Ricci, Susan Sarandon, and Mira Sorvino.  These portraits are currently up for auction to raise money for UNICEF‘s effort to combat illiteracy.  Every single actress came out to the event to show their support.

Andie MacDowell told us directly her thoughts on the portraits:  ”It’s a really glamorous way to bring attention to a very important need about education for countries all over the world.  I have been very blessed, I have a great life, I have wonderful opportunities and I don’t take it for granted.  I like doing charity work and I think eventually I will end up just doing that.”

MacDowell was not shy about revealing her true thoughts on why she thinks her photo turned out so great, “Well I’m 50 years old and it’s kind of a stupid thing to say but the lighting was really really good.  Great hair and make up, they made me look so beautiful!”

Sienna Miller also enjoyed participating in the project and said to us: “It was not like a normal photo shoot because it was not just posing. They gave us characters from novels.  I was Natasha from Warner and I loved it because I had a role to get into which is easy because I’m an actress and it made it easier for me.  I’m not very good at just standing there and posing. It was fun we had such a good time.”

And Eva Longoria shared to us: “When they asked me to do it I thought why not?! It’s only 2 hours out of my day to do a photo shoot and it will help millions of kid all over the world.”

Inside the event, Montblanc, SIGNATURE INTERNATIONAL and UNICEF unveiled the images shot by American photographer Roger Moenks where each actress portrayed a heroine from one of literature’s timeless classics, including Scarlett O’Hara from Margaret Mitchell’s “Gone with the Wind”, Juliet from Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”, Marguerite Gauthier and from “La Dame aux Camélias” by Alexandre Dumas.

Each actress signed the Limited Edition photo on arrival of the event, and the CEO of Montblanc International, Lutz Bethge, revealed all images in a dramatic drop of a curtain. Lutz stressed the importance of the initiative stating, “Support of the underprivileged cannot stop when times are tough. We are very proud to benefit from the support of these 12 extraordinary ladies to take our work with UNICEF one step further and enhance our joint commitment to support education programmes.”

Unveiling of the portraits

After the ladies were introduced and their stunning portraits revealed, Michael York invited the 250 guests to a sit down dinner where Reese Witherspoon presented UNICEF with a huge $50,000 check that she personally donated.

The 12 pictures were auctioned off on International Literacy Day — September 9th.

Recipients of the portraits will get the personally signed picture of the individual actress and a precious version of the Montblanc Meisterstück, the legendary and timeless writing instrument that is celebrating its 85th anniversary this year, a rare limited edition of only 12 pieces worldwide, dedicated to UNICEF.

UNICEF and Montblanc have shared an important common goal over the years – working together to fight illiteracy around the world by giving the “power to write” to underprivileged individuals. In previous years the Power To Write campaign has raised over 1 Million USD in Montblanc boutiques across the world towards education programmes initiated by UNICEF.

On television’s biggest night, there was no short supply of style or fashion. At the 62nd Annual Primtime EMMY Awards white was definitely the hottest color on this year’s red carpet. Kim Kardashian looked stunning in a grecian style white Marchesa dress. Many other celebrities, including Julie Benz of ‘Dexter’ and “Damages” actress Rose Byrne. were also spotted wearing white gowns. Even Bryan Batt of ‘Mad Men’ was spotted wearing a white suit jacket to top off his look.

Another big trend on this year’s red carpet was navy dresses. Lea Michele of ‘Glee’ worked a strapless, navy Oscar De La Renta gown that she accented with a diamond Lorraine Schwartz choker. Jane Krakowski donned a head to toe navy look. The ’30 Rock’ actress’ Escada gown was paired with blue satin Salvatore Ferragamo peep toe heels and blue satin clutch to tie it all together.

Although white and navy were the stand out colors on this year’s red carpet, many other celebrities still made their mark on the red carpet with their own looks. Claire Danes of ‘Temple Grandin’ and Heather Morris were both glowing in sequined dresses. The ‘Temple Grandin’ actress looked elegant in an Armani Prive gown that was encrusted with Swarovski crystals, while Morris, of “Glee”  wore a gold Ina Solanti gown paired with a Swarovski clutch.

Gorgeous wedding gowns at KTLA studios.

Some say your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and the wedding gown, well that’s arguably THE MOST important dress of your life.  So, could you imagine having the public choose your gown? Well, that is exactly what Los Angeles Times Assistant Editor Allison Kornberg has chosen to do, letting people just like you and I make the vote for her gown and other essential wedding decisions on her “Plan My Wedding” blog.

Style Seen Daily Co Founder Crystal Fambrini appeared on The KTLA Morning Show with Jessica Holmes to show Allison three options for wedding dresses and accessories.  Wedding lines Aalia Bridal Couture, Ullaa Maija Couture and Angel Sanchez each provided a dress.  Crystal went shopping at Westside Pavilion and The Los Cerritos Center and pulled diamonds from Zales, pearls from Ben Bridge, and costume jewelry from Nordstrom.

It’s time to make some decisions, and Allison needs our votes to figure out which dress she will be wearing walking down the aisle.

Watch the “Crystal Cam: Behind The Scenes at KTLA for Allison’s Wedding Dresses Segment” here…

And here is the KTLA live video…

Ivory Gown by Aalia Bridal Couture.

Couture Bridal Designer Nanaz Hatami created the gorgeous Aalia Bridal dress and was with us behind the scenes helping fit the models.  She told us she got her inspiration of designing when she worked for SAKS in the 80′s in the wedding department and scoped out all the incredible pieces from various designers.  Nanaz has had the honor to work with Valentino and Oscar De La Renta. Making elegant wedding gowns is not the only thing Nanaz does, evening wear and mother of the bride is also part of her line.  Bride to be Allison described Hatami’s dress as “enchanting” and stated “even my grandma, the toughest judge of the whole brood, said it oozed my personality.” The couture gown is priced at $2500.

Want to walk down the aisle in this couture dress check out the website here.

The petal embellished gown and jewels looked amazing on model Barbara. Accessories by Ben Bridge Jeweler, the necklace, Freshwater cultured pearl necklace 14K yellow gold priced at $499.00 and Freshwater Cultured Pearl Earrings 14K accented with cultured seed pearls, in 14K yellow gold priced at $199.00. Allison cannot go wrong with this look for her big day, it’s truly breathtaking.

Will Allison wear this dress by Ulla Maija Couture?

This uniquely crafted gown called  ”Stephanie” is by designer Anna Maier of Ulla Maija Couture.  Each dress is custom made for each bride. Allison loved how this gown was “three or four dresses in one depending on the angle you looked at it,”and told us she “melted in it”  when she put it on. The beautiful draping and exquisite fabrics — dutch satin and italien taffeta– makes this gown very luxurious.

So, have you fallen in love with this gown? The Stephanie Gown is available at SAKS in Beverly Hills and the designer Anna Maier will be there in person on August 14, in case you are looking for a designer. The Stephanie is priced at $4,900.

And what girl doesn’t love a little sparkle, Crystal paired diamonds from Zales: The Diamond Store to this dress for an extra pop. Diamond teardrop earrings, priced at $2,400.

How about some flower power too, hand embroidered  with Swarovski crystals this brooch completes the dress, also can go in brides hair.

Diamond teardrop earrings by Zales & beautiful hand embroidered brooch.

Model Luba in a Angel Sanchez Gown.

“Simple yet elegant” Allison told us of the Angel Sanchez off white gown. The designer Angel Sanchez is know for his elegant  designs and architectural flare, also keeping in mind a  feminine glow with a touch of drama to each dress. It is a beautifully crafted piece of art  made of fabrics. The dress is priced at $2,860.

We added some extra glow to this piece with accessories from Nordstoms. The Nadri chandelier earrings priced at $138 and Nadri Bangles priced at $100.

Celebrites like Eva Longoria, Brooke Shields and Salma Hayek are also fans of this designer for their big day, because of the way the dress celebrates a women’s body. Focusing on the structure of the dress and keeping in mind, “less is more.”

New York – It may have been the American fashion industry’s big night, but international fashion greats also got their due at the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards last night at Lincoln Center in New York on Monday, June 7.

The late Alexander McQueen was honored with a special tribute, presented by Sarah Jessica Parker, and his Fall 2010 collection was shown for the first time outside the small Paris presentation in March, where it was originally shown shortly after his death on February 11, 2010.

British designer Christopher Bailey of Burberry also received this year’s “International Award,” presented to him by Donna Karan.

A typically star-studded affair – like the Academy Awards and fashion week wrapped into one event – actors including Jessica Biel, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rachel Weisz and CFDA designers themselves, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen, mingled with fashion’s finest, such as CFDA president and designer Diane von Furstenberg, Kenneth Cole, Zac Posen, Betsey Johnson, Rachel Roy, Brian Atwood and Peter Som.

Top honors of the Swarovski-sponsored night went to Marc Jacobs for “Womenswear Designer of the Year,” David Neville and Marcus Wainwright of Rag & Bone for “Menswear Designer of the Year” and the “Accessory Design of the Year” award went to Alexis Bittar.

Swarovski also underwrote the awards for the top emerging designers, who this year included Jason Wu for womenswear, Richard Chai for menswear and Alexander Wang in accessory design. The winners in this category will receive financial support from Swarovski, as well as access to the company’s crystals for use in their own designs.

The Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Michael Kors, presented by Anna Wintour who recalled a humorous anecdote about how Kors once stayed in the ocean in Jamaica for four hours because Ralph Lauren was also on the beach – and Kors didn’t want Lauren to see that he was, in fact, wearing Ralph Lauren swim trunks.

Paper magazine’s founding editor and publisher Kim Hastreiter, a longtime champion of new and undiscovered fashion talents, was given the Eugenia Sheppard Award for excellence in journalism, which actress Brooke Shields introduced, while Caroline Kennedy presented Vogue fashion director Tonne Goodman with the Eleanor Lambert Award. Isabella Rossellini introduced Iman, who received the “Fashion Icon” award.

For the second year in a row, the “Popular Vote” award went to Ralph Lauren. Through a joint Web site sponsored by L’Oreal Paris and WWD.com, anyone could vote for their favorite fashion designer.
