With Easter this week and the sun finally peaking out, I was inspired to finally start dressing for Spring. So I put away my black sweaters and scarves and I brought out my favorite Elizabeth and James floral sundress for brunch on Sunday. This inspired me to change my attitude, brighten my mood, and start wearing beautiful and bold pastels as we step into warmer weather and sunnier days, like Cameron Diaz‘s pastel pink jeans. Here are some creative ways to add some pastels to your daily wardrobe without feeling like a package of colored eggs.
Nails
Nail polish companies like O.P.I. and Essie have come out with beautiful pastels for spring. Essie’s new French Affair Spring Collection features a light and dainty lavender color called Nice is Nice, priced at $8. Pastel colored manicures are the best way to incorporate bright, fun, pastels into your wardrobe. Try purples, pinks, and light greens and yellows to mix it up this season.
Jeans
Pastel colored jeans are all the rage right now. Jada Pinkett-Smith and Audrina Patridge love yellow jeans for a bright spring look. Paired with sandals and a baggy tee, or with pumps and a blazer, these jeans are versatile and flirty.
I love these yellow BDG Cigarette High Rise Jeans, priced affordably at $58, from Urban Outfitters. They’re great for a boat ride or a beachy date night, but don’t be afraid to dress them up and wear them out, they will definitely help you stand out from the crowd.
Light Dresses
Airy, light, pastel dresses with ruffles or floral prints are the best for your spring collection. We saw actresses Mila Kunis, Emma Stone, and singer Taylor Swift walk the red carpet in gorgeous pastel designs this season, now its’s time for you to grab a hold of this beautiful trend. Not only are these styles cute and fun, but they are so easy to throw on for a red carpet or to the beach.
This MM Couture Tiered Dress, priced at $78, is such a great coral color and would look great with wedges and a straw hat for a flirty, casual look.
