Art of Elysium, one of our very favorite homegrown LA based charities started by the extraordinary Jennifer Howell, has incredible programs for artists and children. This year we were honored to attend the Girl Talk Fashion Show and graduation at The Los Angeles Children’s Hospital in the Saban theater.

World renowned music video director Samuel Bayer‘s eye for unexpected beauty is not surprisingly at it again. This time using visual art, and installations to help children heal. On the Rooftop of Hollywood’s Siren Studios, the Nirvana ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ director unvieled his latest project, Transitions, an installation featuring large-scale photos of beautiful butterflies around a giant man-made ‘cocoon’ with multiple screens inside playing his upcoming documentary film featuring, David Anguiano.

The buzz around Hollywood about THE party to be at was The Art of Elysium’s 2nd Annual Genesis Event held at Milk Studios on Saturday, August 28th. The sold out event of over 500 attendees included such celebrities as actors David Arquette, Topher Grace, actress Jessica Lowndes, musician Pink and numerous others. Highlights of the event included a performance by Fitz and The Tantrums, a Live Art Installation and a JeanBar compliments of Paige Denim.

Genesis is a celebration of emerging talent bringing artists, creative thinkers, and social leaders together in support of The Art of Elysium. The event committee was led by co-chairs Teddy Karatz and Matthew Kavanaugh and Style Seen Daily was part of the host committee for the event that included actresses Dianna Agron, Lake Bell, and Jamie-Lynn Sigler, hotelier Jason Pomeranc, and musicians Kenna and The Veronicas.

The Art of Elysium is a non profit organization founded in 1997 by Jennifer Howell, which encourages actors, artists and musicians to voluntarily dedicate their time and talent to children who are battling serious medical conditions. They provide artistic workshops in acting, art, comedy, fashion, music, radio, songwriting and creative writing.

Actor David Arquette enjoyed some coffee provided by Coffee Bean, a co sponsor of The Art of Elysium 2nd annual Genesis event. David also shared with us that he matched his duck print tie with his duck tattoo. Started by a young woman whose friend died of cancer The Art of Elysium brings artists, musicians, comedians, writers and yes many A-Listers out to hospitals throughout the Los Angeles area to share their talents with children. This wonderful cause is in its 13th year and is now branching out so people just like you and I can take advantage of opportunities to help needy children. The Hollywood Domino tournament took place Sunday at The Edison Ballroom in New York City. A spot in the tournament went for $2500 — and all proceeds went to The Art of Elysium.
The stars dressed their best and came out in full force to support this great game launch and charity by. Salma Hayek, Kim Raver, Ali Larter, Molly Sims, Jason Lewis, hotelier Jason Pomeranc, photographer Randall Slavin and co-founders Inge Theron & Daya Fernadez hosted hundreds of guests.

About The Art of Elysium
The Art of Elysium was founded in 1997 by Jennifer Howell and celebrated its 10 year anniversary in January of this year. The organization encourages working actors, artists, and musicians to dedicate their time and talent to children battling serious illnesses by visiting the child at a hospital or clinic. Based on the notion that encounters between critically ill children and artists will change both lives forever, The Art of Elysium has been able to help over eighteen thousand children in 2007 alone.www.theartofelysium.org
Hollywood Domino
Hollywood Domino is the original table game created in Hollywood and played by the stars. The classic game of dominos was given a new twist when A-listers such as Demi Moore, Penelope Cruz, and Charlize Theron began playing dominos with their own “house rules”, creating Hollywood Domino. February 2008 saw the first Hollywood Domino tournament in Los Angeles, where Charlize Theron was crowned domino champion.
